I thiink he just lost his position until the coaches, think he is 100% or close to that before he returns. They want him ready for Bama and UMass should be a warmup game for that. A potential first round NFL draft pick? No way he has lost his job.

Last night was supposed to be THE toss up game of the year so that is when we should have needed him. I don't see Rankin as the difference in beating or not beating Bama but I guess we can dream.

He was ready to play if had too, as indicated in another post. They wanted to still sit him last night if they possibly could. No, I don't think Rankin will be a direct factor in whether we beat Bama, or not. A lot of things have to come into play and for Bama to probably also help us out with some picks or fumbles.
