A 9-3 Ole Miss team made a NY6 Bowl in 2014 and 2015, and Auburn got the Sugar at 8-4 last year (!)

If we play Alabama tough and win the other 3 convincingly, we have a very good shot at getting one.

If they're both 12-0 going into SECCG, they're probably both in the playoffs.

Question becomes can we pass Auburn in the rankings (we'll need them to be 8-4 or worse), or can we both get one.

If I am not mistaken in 2014 Bama was in the Play off, State in the Orange Bowl and Ole Miss in peach bowl. So if we are ranked in the top 12 it will not matter.

That AU game is hurting us. Back end of a tough 3 game stretch, on the road, Rankin got hurt early, we had a bad call go the other way, C. Thomas was hurt, and we had 7 pre-snap penalties. Kind of the perfect storm. UGA on the other hand, is just much better than us and they are much better than almost every team in the country.

Unless LSU beats Alabama and goes 10-2, there's almost a 100% chance that a 9-3 LSU will be ranked behind a 9-3 Mississippi State in the playoff rankings. The committee does a lot of research and values head to head wins, especially blowouts.

That's true I forgot that bowls are now decided by playoff ranking instead of conference tie in/finish. I believe Citrus bowl takes the highest ranked SEC team not in the NY6. So I think the citrus would be the floor for 9-3. I would love a New Years vacay in Orlando

I agree. Auburn is a good team but not that much better than us, if at all. There were some very questionable calls in that game. We also gave up some "explosive plays", which we don't ordinarily give up.
