What do you think Mullen could do to help them out?

Play Couch like he did against BYU and move Gray to the slot.

If we're going to give validity to this idea that Fitz not throwing the most catchable ball plays a significant part in the drops, then he and any receivers who feel like it's a problem need to get together and play catch for an extra hour every day for the rest of the season. Fitz can't improve his fundamentals and mechanics in the heat of the moment overnight, but our receivers can do more to get used to the ball he throws now if they're not already.

Throw the ball mixon?s way more often. He seems to be coming along...

Vs LSU = 6 catches 97 yds
Vs Georgia = 3 catches 12 yards
Vs auburn = 1 catch 45 yards
Vs BYU = 5 catches 69 yds

Certainly not great, but showing promise.

Truth. Couch is close to being the guy. He's almost there. He needs to have his best game so far this Saturday.

Fitz was 19 of 30 with 6 CLEAR Drops. Add in those 6 and Fitz is 25 of 30 80% which is Heisman QB type numbers.

Yes, there were six clear drops. But 3 of those were on passes that were behind the WR or that they had to adjust to make the catch. Passes that I fully agree "should" have been caught, but Fitz didn't make those catches as easy as they should have been. His accuracy still needs improvement.

Any of the sports media/stats sites actually track "Drops"? I'd be interested in seeing those numbers for the past few years

Run them in from the sidelines behind the opposing DB's?***

1. Fire the current Wide Receiver coach. 2. Hire a Wide Receiver coach who can Recruit and Coach SEC caliber Wide Receivers.

Isn't the current WR coach also the Co-coordinator of the passing game? I think the OL coach is also the current co-coordinator of the running game. Correct me if I am wrong.

When I was writing the article I couldn't find one unfortunately. Would love to see the actual number.

Short WRs are typically going to drop more balls because 1. They have a smaller target & are thus more likely to have to reach for the ball & 2. Being short correlates with having small hands, which obviously makes it more difficult to catch the ball consistently.

Hire Fred Bilitenkoff as a catch coach.

Hevesy helps a lot with game planning and I would imagine Gonzalez does too. Dan does call the plays for the most other than times where like last year he let Brian Johnson call some plays at times.
