He clearly had his best game against us. In the other 3 games, his passes resembled something more like mortar shots over the heads of his wide receivers, and in LSU game, these mortars were intercepted twice. Most of his errant passes in his other 3 games were so bad that nobody, on offense or defense, could catch them. Yet his one game against us, he plays lights out, and even completes a pass to himself for 27 yards on 3rd down, leading to one of their touchdowns.

I was in BR Sat night and sat in the South Endzone. He looked like the shitty thrower I saw against WaST and ARST. He was heaving balls up for grabs all night and was lucky he didn't have the infamous 7 picks in a game. Passes were so horrible and off mark, that the LSU DB's weren't even close to them either. How is it that a QB seems to always have one of their career days against us? Our defense is pretty damn good also. The LSU crowd seemed to be the main difference in his play from our game and this past weekends game. He looked like a scared puppy out there. Had we played them at home, we probably beat AU 14-20 points. It just made me more mad about our loss, sitting there watching him play like shit a week later. Just wondering when we will start getting the breaks, and QB's stop having career days against us.

I honestly do not know what to think about our game against LSU. They have some tall speedy WR's that go up and fight for the ball. Mettinberger doesn't exactly dazzle with his feet, but he does throw it where his WR's have a chance to go up and fight for the ball. AU didn't get much pressure on him until late in the 3rd quarter. Either LSU was subbing in some reserves on offensive line, or the starters were getting tired. I didn't bother to look up the names, because I was soaking ass wet and sober. Not a good combination.

That being said, I haven't the ****ing slighest clue what to expect next weekend. Being a night game I think we have a decent shot, but I would say Vegas opens it up around LSU -8.5 or so.

it'll be closer to 18 than it will 8. It's not what Vegas thinks will happen, it's what they think will generate balance on the bets.

It's called his first away game at night in Tiger Stadium. The other teams couldn't stop the run so they basically just ran the ball those first two games. We concentrated on stopping the run in our game and other then the prevent drive and the fluke catch we did a good job of holding him. He doesn't even get to 200 yards passing if we don't go prevent and he doesn't get the freak play.

wasn't it an absolute monsoon in Baton Rouge on Saturday night?

I dont see LSU being favored by more than 10 in Sville

During our game he had the least amount or errant high passes. I also don't recall him short hopping his WR's against us either. He has done this a good bit in each of his other 3 games besides the one against us.

yes- it poured in the 1st half- Marshall put 21 points on the board in the 2nd half when it stopped raining...Mason also ran for 130+ yards vs LSU- he had 34 vs us.

a dry field and it would have been a much closer game. LSU is built for wet, sloppy games- I formation, big fullbacks, great TB's...

I was mostly being a smart ass, but I do think it'll be more than ten. Then again SC is only giving up 7 or so points to UCF.

Marshall didn't look like an All-American against us... He threw a lot of bubble screens that helps his % and had a lot of fluke plays go his way... And a prevent D on the last drive...

What he said plus we had like 18 missed tackles. Those normally equate to yds ESPECIALLY Vs a spread offense.

I'm encouraged because Auburn struggled to run vs us- but ran for over 200 yards vs LSU

We went into prevent defense too soon. That's what cost us the game.

You're forgetting that over 100 yards and 1 TD of his passing came off of totally lucky/fluke plays, and then another huge chunk came at the end when we inexplicable played soft-ass prevent defense. He also wasn't able to beat us at all with his legs, except for the aforementioned fluke pass that he completed to himself.

If you watched whole game, you'd realize that we did a pretty good job of keeping their offense in check. 11 of their 24 points came off of busted plays, and then another 7 came against the dumbass prevent. And we did this against a Malzahn offense in a night game at Jordan-Hare. That's what makes the Auburn game so frustrating to me: We did everything right defensively to beat them, except we played not to lose defensively on the last drive. Of course, the last drive wouldn't have mattered had the offense not gone to shit after getting the lead...

Busted coverage, missed tackles, 40 yard completion to himself, etc.

We really had a perfect storm of things go against us for Auburn to be in that game.

I will agree he was more accurate than what I had seen previously and I really think that's a big reason Collins went soft that last drive - i dont' think he thought there was any way in hell he could throw accurately down the field unless we blew a coverage and thought there were greater odds he'd air mail one right to us. Oh well, hindsight 20/20.

reminds me of watching J. Lee a few years ago against us. Famous for INT's coming into the game he looked like Tom Brady all night threading needles and perfectly leading receivers.

On Au's last drive for the win the two times we pressured him he wasn't close to hitting his receiver. We did not make our own luck. should have come with 5 on every play. If they score they score.
