Can someone give me just a quick hint on embedding videos please? I'm almost there

I went to the you tube video, clicked "share" then clicked the "embed" thing . then I get a quick message saying "copied to clip board".

Then I come to ED and try to post the video and I hit post option "video" and the window pops up and I hit the "ctrl V" to copy the URL.

but what appears is nothing but what was copied. nothing but a bunch mumbo jumbo letters and numbers. can't even click on it.

sorry for starting a thread on this but if someone could just tell me what step I'm missing it would be greatly appreciated.

You are doing too much. Simply copy the Youtube video URL and paste that into the Video pop-up.

The pop-up even has an example...

Make sure you are on the desktop version of YouTube not the mobile YouTube.
