You're overqualified. But to be fair, you have just as much head coaching experience as Matt Luke had prior to this season. So you have that going for you.

Luke knows he's not getting the job and the odds of him being retained as OL coach by the new guy are zero. There's nothing to coach for. They will fold like a dollar bill against Vandy.

interims typically get to prove themselves, especially when they get the go from game 1. the AD saying uh, no after today. was posted today.

Yeah, as fun as it is to laugh to Ole Miss, I'm pretty sure this legally required for hiring someone to a state government job.

People are laughing because it could have been listed back in July when they fired Freeze- but its suddenly listed now when they are getting skulldrug this season

Eg 17ing zactly. this is just another example of a dumpster fire and now explosives being thrown in it. would love to be a fly on the wall with all those contributors being pissed off. what we may be witnessing is the worst Return on Investment (ROI) in the history of college football. the investors are real mad right now. I feel sorry for their wives. well sorta.

Sure, it's fun to make fun of them, but I'm pretty sure that Bjork said Luke was the interim for the season, and they'd be looking for a permanent coach after the year is up. Plenty of time to post the opening. In fact, they may have to act on filling the job within a certain amount of time after the posting. I think it was just coincidental that they were getting hammered and the posting appeared on a Saturday afternoon. But, one could ask, why were the HR people working on Saturday afternoon??? :)

Agree! Names like Frost and Neal Brown are not gonna touch this job. It's gonna be a no-name FCS guy D2 guy or retread. They are toxic and at least a 5-7 year rebuild. What young coach is gonna jeopardize his future

The only reason I could see anyone touching it is money. If OM offers 2-3 million (or more) with 4 years guaranteed, it may be enough to attract someone making mid-major pay, but like you said, they have to realize they're jeopardizing any future chances of moving to another job.

Yeah, he played football at OM and was an assistant defensive coach at OM that Cutcliffe hired. I doubt he would jump into that dumpster fire, but I guess it's possible.

Correct. Any State Personnel listed job must be advertised in some form to the public (normally in the newspaper), even if a State Agency hires within.

Was there anything like this posted after Freeze's firing? and why would the one we're talking about now be dated 10-7-17? not saying you're wrong, it's just that what you're saying doesn't add up to the chain of events since Freeze's firing. either there is a difference when it comes to football hirings or tsun just 17'd up yet ugGAIN. Maybe they'll have the EEOC knocking on their door next to add to their dumpster fire woes.

I will be shocked if Jay touches this job. His family is liking Hattiesburg and his girls are set in school. Only way he touches it is if he is thinking about taking the $4 mil for 4 and then hanging it up altogether.
