I was told last week that he would be unable to play his Senior season (next year as he is currently a Jr) due to his age. Does anyone know what that rule is for MPSHA and if it's the same for Public?

I thought this was interesting and wanted to ask those who may know.

Haven't heard that. I know his family. Try to find out.

He's probably heading to minors anyway as a high MLB draft pick.

My daughter dates a Prep player and just told me he is 16 and just got his license. So, yes he will play next year.

Thanks, I surely have heard this from a few places - one being a Coach. I asked if it were an eligibility issue with him playing varsity for so many years - I think he has played varsity since the 8th grade......who knows.

Thanks for the feedback. He is a stud, speed kills

I'm hoping that he will do what AJ Brown and Anthony Alford did. Play minor league ball and then football for us in the fall.

Except they both ended up in Oxford. Have we ever had anybody do that?

Well, Alford started out at USM first. I can't remember anyone doing that. But we have different coaches now too. I think Dan would be OK with it.

I heard he is playing next year , just not for Jackson Prep. Some are saying is is moving to Florida to attend IMG Academy similar to what Shae Patterson did his senior year

If he's going to IMG, that's a pretty solid endorsement that he wants to play college football, not go to the minor leagues, right? Doesn't seem like IMG is as much of an advantage in baseball prospect stock as it is for football.

I've also heard that he might transfer to Madison Central. But that was this offseason. I bet he stays at Prep.

Had no idea he was the 3rd overall MLB prospect for 2019. That's awesome.

Wonder where JT Ginn is? I'm sure commercomet can tell me

The MHSAA rule which is probably similar to private schools is you cannot be 19 prior to August 1.
