Just think, it was little more than a year ago the entire CFB media praised the high school coaches doing so well in the college ranks. Fast-forward: the only one of the "big three" (Briles, Freeze, Malzahn) that still has any hope of a future in FBS is Malzahn, and that is in serious question. Briles is gone, probably for good, Freeze could be staring at a huge Show cause issue, and Malzahn's squads are quickly falling into Tennessee territory (every year favored to be top 5, end up unranked).

Food for thought.

What we found out about high school head coaches is that, while they can be creative on offense, they lack the experience & political savvy to run major programs & be effective CEOs.

Between Briles, Freeze, & Malzahn, all three suck at running a major program & recruiting the "Right" type of players to sustain success.

Even the Canadian league can't justify hiring Briles. Gus has one of his worst offenses this season. They were making Mercer's defense look All SEC yesterday. Freeze will probably wind up coaching at a high school in Texas in the next few years.

Very well said. And even with certain players, the high school coaches seem way in over their heads when you transition from high school booster money to college booster money.
