? Nick Fitzgerald?s two rushing scores in the first half brought his career total to 53 touchdown responsible for,which surpassed Don Smith (1983-86) for second all-time at MSU. He is the first to rush for two scores againstLSU this season. Fitzgerald has rushed for at least one TD over the last seven games with 13 total rushing scoresover the streak.

? On the first field-goal attempt of his career, Jace Christmann connected on a 30-yard kick to give MSU a 10-7lead with 5:04 remaining in the first half. Christmann added a 45-yard FG (10:53, 3Q), the longest FG made byMSU?s special teams this season

.? Fitzgerald?s second rushing touchdown of the game (0:07, 2Q) was the 24th of his career, moving him into afour-way tie for fifth all-time in MSU history with James Johnson (1997-98), John Bond (1980-83) and JackieParker (1952-53).

? Fitzgerald added two TD passes over the second half to push his career total to 31, tying Don Smith (1983-86)for sixth all-time at MSU.

? With 146 yards on 23 attempts, Aeris Williams recorded his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game and thefouth of his career. He is the first 100-yard rusher allowed by LSU?s defense this season.

? With a career-high six receptions, Keith Mixon racked up a career-best 91 yards, including a career-long, 45-yardTD reception to put MSU up 27-7 with 5:10 remaining in the third quarter.

? MSU won the coin toss and elected to defer until the second half.

? With tonight?s victory, Dan Mullen is one away from tying College Football Hall of Famer Allyn McKeen forsecond in MSU history; Mullen is 11 wins shy of tying Jackie Sherrill?s school record mark.

? MSU improved to 73-35-3 all-time against LSU with the victory. It was the first win for State over the Tigers sinceSept. 20, 2014 (34-29 MSU). The victory over the Tigers was the first in Starkville since MSU topped LSU 17-16 onOct. 23, 1999.

? Scoring on seven consecutive drives, MSU set the largest margin of victory over LSU in series history at 30. Theprevious high of 25 was set on Nov. 13, 1954, in a 25-0 victory in Baton Rouge. It?s the largest margin of victoryover a ranked opponent since State topped No. 12 Vanderbilt 33-0 on Oct. 17, 1942

.? The victory was also the first over a ranked opponent since Nov. 5, 2016, against No. 4 Texas A&M (W, 35-28).

? MSU improved to 4-5 in SEC openers under Dan Mullen. The victory over LSU is the second consecutive victoryin an SEC opener for the Bulldogs after topping South Carolina 27-14 in 2016.

? The Bulldogs? 3-0 start to the season is the first since MSU reeled off wins over Southern Miss (49-0), UAB (47-34)and South Alabama (35-3) to open the 2014 season.

? MSU?s 17 first-half points surpassed the total allowed by the Tigers? defense through the first two gamescombined (10 pts.).

? State totaled 465 yards of offense, more yards allowed by LSU?s defense through the first two games of theseason combined and included the first 100-yard rusher (Aeris Williams) and first passing TDs allowed by theTigers this year.
