View Full Version : If We Win Tonight, Will You Consider it an Upset?

I realize their record against us and that alone should obviously make everyone extremely excited if we win.

However, is it really an upset if we win?

Technically, LSU is ranked 12th and we are unranked, but too a man I think we are somewhere between the 15th 20th best team in the country.

If that's the case and with home field advantage, a better head coach, and a top shelf D.C., is it really an upset if we win or will the coon asses just be upset?

Personally, I won't see it as much of an upset. I think these are two fairly equal teams.

Upset. They are ranked #12 whether accurate or not.

Yes, because it would be one. They are #12 and we aren't ranked.

I agree. Not much of an upset. The ranking argument holds no water. In 2014 everyone thought we pulled a huge upset im Baton Rouge, but as the season played out it was obvious that we were just a much better team.

I don't but it's because I expect us to win.....home game - this will be a coming out party.

LSU is over rated - even at #12....they are badly over rated and conversely State is underrated.

I actually don't think LSU is overrated. I think it's that we are massively underrated.

I doubt their are 12 teams truthfully better than LSU in the country.

It's considered an upset by definition. But by the end of 2014, I don't think in hindsight many of us considered it an upset. The better team won that day, but many of us weren't quite sure yet that we were the better team at the time. I've got the same feeling this year.

We're a touchdown underdog. 80% of "experts" are picking LSU.

Whether their ranking is justified or not, this will be an upset by any measure.

IMO no

No. Preseason rankings are good for TV heads to have something to talk about and prove how they really don't know what they are talking about. Flip the games we played with LSU and let us have the same points they had against BYU and whoever else they played. Let them have our stats (scoring average over 50 and holding CSU to 33 yards). You wouldn't hear the end of how good LSU was and how we really still haven't played anyone. The double standard for power programs is sickening. They will make excuses if we win. They will drop to #19. We will be #20. They're all a bunch of douchebags. That said, we had a few pick us this morning....except the delusional corso, of course

Nope. I expect a win. It WILL be an upset, but I won't consider it one WHEN (not if) we win.

Lotta wool in this thread. Hope you guys are right, but I see equal or better talent for lsu at almost every position.

I expect MSU to win and actually relatively easy.

An expected upset, if that's possible.

I won't be shocked if we win. But it would have to be considered an upset.

I do and the reason why is that i dont think we are 100% together as a team yet. I think lsu is.

In other words our upside is huge... they have reached theirs
