That shit is impressive... They should have taken Hedges with them, as well.

That's some pretty serious travel there.

I knew about 15 people who went. They were throwing insane amounts of money out for a "once in a lifetime" chance to see two overrated teams play for who shits the bed best.

Knowing UGA produces people like that makes me happy every time I write a check to MSU for my daughters education.

I dunno ... I, and many others, spend insane amounts of money buying season tickets and attending games at MSU every year. About $1000 per weekend for 2 people when all is totaled. Might not spend a lot more going to South Bend. I even went to Oxford once .... **

I'm surprised there are that many tickets available at ND.

I've a friend who traded two Masters' practice round tickets for ONE ticket to the ND/UGA game. Worst negotiator ever.

I get that it is expensive. but to get one of the 8,000 tixs allotted to UGA - your giving level had to start at $35k.. if you went open market the tickets averaged $1100. You ad flights, tickets to Cubs games (which about 20,000 went to go see Dooley throw out 1st pitch Friday), rental cars, and hotels. I just find that insane.

40k? That would be at about 51% of the game attendance.

Put that way it's pretty insane. :) Wonder if they had to sell double wides to be able to afford it?

Dang, Southern Miss must have spilled the beans on how to travel.

Many of them also got to see the Cubs on Friday and the Falcons in Chicago on Sunday. Pretty awesome weekend if you ask me.

What's a "sane" amount to spend for football? Like a $99 value pack, or just pick em up on Stubhub for $4???

I went to the BYU game last year and if MSU was playing ND up there I would go and I suspect MSU would travel for that game in large numbers. I am impress with ND allowing that many tickets to get into the hands of GA. Hell we couldn't get 700 our of Southern Miss a few years ago.

I'd say - for a meaningless regular season game - a couple of hundred, maybe a little more. If it was a Natty, I could understand it. Maybe having a kid in college and another on the way has just warped my sense of what I am willing to pay for such things.

ND is a decent trip. I seriously doubt UGA had 40,000 in the stadium though. No way that happened. But ND isn't much bigger than JCJC. Beautiful little campus but not worth crazy money. Their athletic facilities, minus baseball, are nice. Now Wrigley, on the other hand, is 17ing amazing!

The Friday morning flight from Atlanta to South Bend was overbooked and they had to offer $4,000 before someone would volunteer to take the afternoon flight.

I don't know the exact number but I saw a lot of red in the crowd, all around the stadium.

Which it just goes to prove what I've been saying. College football fans will pay and show up for an interesting matchup. Maybe it is a gamble for the schools chance to make the playoff but these games are healthy for the game of college football.

Have you seen the picture of the Stadium? It was a sea of red all around the thing. It might not have been 40k but it sure looked like it on TV.
