And I expect to hear nothing but fluff from Ole Miss media over the next month or two. It's going to be crap like "It went better than expected", "MSU is the one who really should be scared", and "Leo Lewis looked bad, there is a good chance his stuff gets thrown out", etc.

Don't believe any of it. Unless they actually decide to start telling the truth and it's something like- "We're about to get nailed and Oxford is about to look like Atlanta circa 1864." Of course their media doesn't know the meaning of big words like "circa" but you get my drift.

My guess based on this board is that the NCAA will release the sanctions around Egg Bowl time. So, if that's true we're going to have to deal with that BS from their media for a couple more months.

My question is what are Yancy and co. going to tell their subscribers in November when they're proven bullshitters for the last time? "We were wrong this time (again) but just wait" won't (shouldn't) work anymore.

They believe what they are desperate to hear. I think that is more enjoyable to me. Wouldn't be any fun if they actually took ownership of their transgressions.

"They believe what they are desperate to hear" and,if the shoe was on the other foot, many of us would, too. However, I hope the MSU AD would refrain from spoon-feeding us bullshit.

IF the ad decided to feed us BS we would run him out of town......

Then they will change the narrative to MSU and Dan Mullen conspired with the NCAA against Ole Miss and while it worked, it's war now. Even though Alabama, Georgia, and many, many others were the ones that started all of this.

There is no question in my mind that if Cohen or Stricklin had handled an NCAA investigation the way Ole Miss has to go along with the systemic cheating our fans would be completely outraged and they would be gone. And whoever our football coach is would have been fired way before he had time to get caught with escorts.

Ole Miss pretends like everyone does it like they do and that it's all Leo Lewis's fault that they are going to get hammered.

You're absolutely right about the way the investigation has been handled. Furthermore, many fans (including me) would no longer financially suppost the athletic program if our university was guilty of such rampant cheating. Sure, there are "rogue boosters" and there's little than can be done to control them, but when the administration condones it, even spearheads the operation, that's another matter.

Is it really on 9-11? That in and of itself is jackulatory.

I stopped going to our games briefly in 2003 in part because of it. Most of the reason was because I was embarrassed by the product on the field and rumors about things that I had been hearing about guys on the team basically doing whatever the hell the wanted to do, some of them not blocking for Fant, and then when Jackie stepped down some of the players blamed the fans. I came back because we had a different coach the next year.

Things have changed a LOT the past 15 years. Even 10 years too. For the better.

Yep. Runs through the 13th of September.

Preview of Yancy's article already written.
COI went better than expected. UNM will probably be absolved of all wrong doing and all other SEC teams placed on probation. UNM will not only be able to go to a bowl but will be able to split the team in half and go to two bowls, which is amazing.
Cannon Motors is now the official rental agency of the NCAA.
Hugh Freeze will be reinstated and the NCAA will pay for publishing his new book with the working title "Bim Bam, Haiti, Escorts, and Boosters-How a High School Coach Can Become a Millionaire".
Extra scholarships awarded to UNM for all their trouble.
Many more perks. These are just a few highlights.****

They can spew their bs, but no one outside the hotty toddy footprint will buy it. Those days are over. Never thought I'd see the day.

It will be all about the racism, favoritism, and whatever other -isms they can come up with. Oh, and appeals and lawsuits. I'm sure OM already has an appeal template made up, just fill in a few blanks and run with it.

How long have you been on this board? If the shoe was on the other foot, there would have been hourly posts on here the last 18 months saying we are screwed and to fire everybody. Dan's house would have for sale signs up and Hevesy wouldn't even have a house to come home to.

The reason the level of cheating would not happen at this university to the extent it happened there is that we have a leader that holds people accountable. He set the tone a couple of years ago and while it is naive to think no cheating happens, it is clear that anyone who engages in it knows full well that there are consequences for it in house. The AD and the coaching staffs understand they do NOT want to be in the office explaining a situation that could cause MSU to lose money or for it to be embarrassed on a national stage.

Funny how that works. All it takes is a strong leader to prevent this mess. Conversely, if the "leadership" is beholding to someone else, they are at their mercy.

It would surprise me if he didn't run that before the COI meets, that's just how ignorant and arrogant they are. And their little snowflake shitbirds would actually believe it... So far their answer is to ignore the Egg Bowl. Yea, that'll get us. They know we're gonna keep for a long while....
