That would depend on who in front of us loses. Just beating La Tech who isn't ranked isn't going to push us up very far if at all unless we beat them like we did CSU.

But, as we saw in 2014 - 3 big wins in a row can catapult you up the rankings. They were already hyping our September schedule pregame Saturday as we are the only team in the country facing 3 pre-season ranked teams in September. We run that gauntlet and are sitting 5-0 on October 1 and we will be Top 10.

A win at LA Tech (especially with a strong defensive performance and Fitz runs wild) will put us 25 - 30 I think. We don't get ranked before the LSU game. Just don't see it.

Correct. If we win impressively and several more teams lose we will get an obligatory top 25 just from the AP because it's in their interest to rank us. And there's no downside because if we lose to LSU we fall right back out and the put someone else in. Preseason rankings are fake news.

I'm not sure where I fall on this but when ND is good it just seems to make college football more fun. Love them or hate them. I'm closer to the latter.

I grew up in the 80s if that tells y'all anything. College Football somehow doesn't seem right when ND sucks.

However, with thay said I'm currently rooting for Texas and ND to go 0-12 every year. The sooner ND has to break down and join a conference and the sooner Texas is irrelevant the sooner conference alignment will find its natural norm. Those two are holding up the inevitable.

Me and you both. They are a good hire away from being a regular playoff team. Imagine a Saban, Harbough, or even a Mullen at ND. Playoffs every year.

Hell, when I bought my weed farming tractor I built a spreadsheet to make the decision...

I even got one of them Accounting Degrees (although I think I got cheated bc it's printed on paper and not ruminant hide)....

Ah a man after my own heart. I'm not an accountant but I have been a marketing director a long time and have spent way to many hours going through spreadsheets, marketing trends, gmroi and various and sundry other stuff that gives me a headache lol

Team that pisses me off on a yearly basis is Texas. They haven't been relevant in 6-8 years now and have had some pretty terrible seasons. There is no reason they should have been in the top 25 this year.

Just remember in 2014 we still were not ranked in week 4 when we played #8 LSU. Then after beating them we were #14, then #12 after a bye week and facing #6 aTm. Then we were #3 facing #2 Auburn. Then we leapfrogged FSU who was reigning national champs and still undefeated to become #1 in the country. We stayed #1 for 5 straight weeks after that. Where we are right now really doesn't matter but it's nice to be on the cusp of breaking into the top 25.
