Exactly, not that hard to do an investigation when the transcripts are just handed over.

They probably give him his talking points along with the transcript. UM up to now was in total control of the spin of the message. Unfortunately for them, actual journalists got involved instead of taking people like Godfrey's word for it.

Just think about this.

Ole Miss could've given those transcripts to numerous more experienced, more credible journalists with an infinitely larger platform in which share the story than Godfrey.

Why didn't they?

I wouldn't be surprised if OM knew something else was about to come out. Normally when one of these masturbatory type articles comes out bad news follows it for them.

Here's the thing- Ole Miss is acting like Godfrey is some credible nationally known writer like Dan Wolken or Pat Forde. He's not.

He's a "good writer"- but he has about as much clout as any of us that post on a message board and write blog articles.

This would be about like me writing some article for a MSU blog about how Ole Miss steered a few baseball recruits to Oxford HS a couple of years ago and Paul Jones, Gene, Robbie, Rosebowl, and etc. being surprised that it didn't break nationally.
