There are no games in the spring, so there is nothing to be eligible for. If he is not eligible to play in games, he will still practice. Just like the spring.

Got ya. Didn't realize that. Thought you had to be academically eligible to go through spring practice.

It would be total Bull shit if Rivers can't play. I just don't get it. He was eligible out of HS and has been at MSU for a spring and summer session.
I wish somebody would ask his mama, I'm sure she is pissed. If you watched last chance U, you know what I mean.

Ah powerball the redneck retirement plan lol

I've got an employee at work who is in her 50's. She's had to move out of her house because of foreclosure. She claimed the other day that she has less than $10 to her name and was having to borrow money from her mother. She drove to Louisiana last night from central Mississippi to buy lottery tickets. I just shake my head.

Unfortunately I have seen this to many times as well. Sad and tragic.

If you think that's sad, go to any Casino and just walk around looking at all the people playing and the amount some of them risk. So many of them look as if they are on fixed incomes (elderly etc..).

Sure, I have gone and had a good time. I have even won a little here and there, but I have never gambled real money. Anything that I would not consider spending on a night out or vacation, is what I consider "real" money.

$10 on a ticket? No worse than stopping at Hardees for breakfast rather than cooking at home.

They left around the same time, unless you are referring to her being checked out the whole semester. I can't say that I blame her for checking out, you can only take so much of that shit until you just say if they don't care, why should I.

She has to buy that ticket by law, according to some. Lottery tickets are "taxes on the poor", at least that's what is always brought up by anti-lottery politicians. It's pretty much patently false. It's a tax on the stupid, which is not always the same thing. I work with plenty of people who are very financially stable who waste all kinds of time and money driving 30 minutes one way to the state line to buy tickets. I really don't get it.

One advantage of the lottery is that it does tax the "underground economy" to a degree.

But wasn't it the largess of his schedule hours that is the problem? That would be set at beginning of each semester, correct? Meaning, if she was his counselor as it appeared, shouldn't she have known he was taking too many hours? Or whatever the problem was, since it appears to not be grade related.
