Are there any other transfers?

I dont get the Ford mention. He pitched in the Perfect Game league this summer and elevated his fastball to 90+.

His stats were bad. Hits/inn pitched really bad in a not so good league. Best wishes to him.

Pilkington had a good summer with Team USA too. A lot of those guys were recovering or learning. Basically like minor league rehab assignments for a couple of them.

Somehow forgot about pilkington. Does team USA put out stats for the entire summer?

Wasn't ford the one that Had gotten his velocity up into the mid 90's during summer and had everyone so excited? And wasn't he a big time prospect out of Texas?

Ford and our coaching staff had some goals that he needed to hit this summer. He did not have a good a summer so he hung up his glove. Great kid he kid could never fully recover from his injury.

So only 4 outs he recorded weren't via strikeout? That can't be right.

Does MSU use a specific TJ Doctor or do the players select a provider?

That sounds a little more accurate

Interesting considering how thin we were already. I guess he had gotten to the point where it just wasn't going to happen. I'm just wondering how we are going to fill a roster, unless we have some double secret walk-ons.

Ford met the goals the coaches asked for, but decided he wanted to go a different route and just go to school and be a college kid. He's smart as hell, and will be a big alumnus of MSU.

Glad for Parker...but I have an MSU baseball question in all this: Who was the last MSU pitcher to go from IN-MSU TJ to a Good/Decent career IN-MSU?

I am thinking Nick Routt, but can't think of anyone else

Of course, before Mini Me, this never happened in bulk

I don't think Routt had Tommy John if my memory serves me. I think he had something like a nerve translation in his elbow or something like that?

I think they have to go to the MSU doctor first just because he is the first line of defense, but they can and sometimes do seek a second opinion from an outside provider like Dr. Andrew's if they wish to do so.

The epidemic has really just started. It's not like there is tremendous history there, this year round baseball stuff just started when these guys were kids. We certainly should know something next year. It's also hard to get injured your freshman year, then have a good career, when the recovery is 1.5 years.

Only ones I remember having it (before the 2016 rash) were Paul Young and Ford. Jacob Lindgren had it, but after MSU. Reid Humphreys had it in high school.

I also think it's a lot more invasive surgery than many think. There doesn't seem to be a very high return rate on young arms.

I seen it dawg

The article seems to agree with you. He "faced Tommy John" but it does not say that he had Tommy John. The article also mentions Dr Andrews, gad that we are consulting the best.
