Not getting much play over there, but I thought was a great post. It's the exact same that I've heard for years, especially the last part. The Network isn't dead by any means but they'll probably lay low for a while. But soon they'll flip someone like CJ Johnson who's suppose to be an MSU lock... then we'll know they're back in business.

The Network won't stop until they completely destroy Ole Miss.

Here's how the "lower" guys work. They aren't average joes. They have money. Pretty big money. They just aren't Scruggs, Langston, Merkel, Nutt, Hollingsworth, Barrett, ETC.

The still to be named booster is in that category. A friend of mine is one.

What they do is have a get together at one of them's home where a group of them have some beers with an assistant. In his case, let's say the coaches he met with were called, oh I don't know, say Stix and Bearer, (no need to use real names and get anybody in trouble).

They all pony up a few grand cash to be used for prospects on official visits.

Evidently they use them to direct pay recruits, as in Leo's case, and I'm sure many others. Also to make sure mom and dad have a job, gas, and money to go see Jr play.

It is a great post and pretty believable. Maybe not all of it. But had some elements that make sense to me. Hugh is not the stark raving villian he's touted to be. That is a convenient story for us to believe before this Armageddon of an investigation. Hugh is just a shallow guy that used an opportunity as a good soldier in a coaching staff to parlay that up to a head coaching job. He never believed it could come to this. Heck, none of us did. He isnt innocent either, if that is what you think you just read. He just thought he was doing what any young bear bryant or bobby bowden did at one time. He's nieve and he got in over his head with big money willing to use him for it. He's Icarus. Except in this case, his father was encouraging him to fly towards the sun.

The Network is probably one MAJOR donor who is manipulating a few insanely rich but more MINOR donors who give marching orders to even lesser soldier boosters. Its the way every corporation works..

The media is a tool, until which time they realize it. Then one of them who sees the long term value of not being bought and paid for decides to go rogue. Now that guy is not Steve Robertson. Steve is the town cryer. Steve went around looking for the rogue and eventually convinced a couple of them to look.

The state media fishwrap puppet figured they hadnt been outed in all these years, so what will be different this time?

What is funny, or maybe not so funny, is that Neal McCready, who I absolutely love to give unmitigated hell on twitter, is not a bad reporter in the sense of the quality of his work. He's a bad reporter because he allowed himself to be used in the propaganda machine of the school. He could have gone national had he chosen the more difficult route of embracing his role as the guy that caused the whole Jinga tower to fall in his question to Tunsil on draft night. He could have played that into big things. But he was too chicken. He was holding aces and got bluffed into being just another Ole Miss media water boy.

Godfrey is just an internet poster like all of us. So is Yancy. So is Chuck.

It all fell apart because they had nobody as a fail-safe. Nobody preparing years ago to cut the cord when things ramped up and get a fresh start. They just kept doubling down. On and on. What happened, however or whomever it is attributable was inevitable. Fighting city hall is never a good idea. Someone loses their sense of history.

They resemble a gambling addict to me. Good at reading the cards. Good at winning incrementally, and then they lose one they shouldn't. They try to get it back in one hand. And again. Before they know it they are in debt and no hope of getting out when they meet the loan shark outside the casino.

Yes to the bold.

And yes McCready could have done exactly what Rosebowl did and parlayed it into something a lot bigger than his little area now.

Since he's 'Not a Fan", I can't believe he didn't do it.

I don't think they got sloppy as much as they just got arrogant. Freeze daring people to e-mail knowledge of violations, calling out Lindsey Miller, Freeze's agent screwing over Tunsil on draft night and expecting no blowback and of course not apologizing to Houston Nutt.

Those are the things that killed them. And most involve Freeze.

Todd my friend, that's not arrogance on Freeze's part, just ignorance.

The deal with the lower level members of the Network is that they are inactive until they have access to a recruit that the Bears want. They may be donating to the till but aren't doing footwork until they have a personal " in" with a recruit or family member. My local Network car dealership owner has been quiet the last couple of years because there has been no D1 talent in the area. But the last three recruits that went to UM from this area all drove the same brand of new auto when they went and all had the same dealership sticker.

It makes them feel wanted and needed when they are called on to serve. It strokes their ego and self worth without regard to the illegal activities. I might get a picture of me playing golf with Archie to hang on my office wall, money alone won't buy that!

You are correct and I may be giving Freeze too much credit here. But I do think that part of the reason he did those ignorant things was because he was arrogant enough to think that he would get away with everything. How wrong he was.

They haven't done anything meaningful in 50+ years. I'd say they need a better network. I'm laughing at their network, that's how bad they've sucked for 50+ years.

Bingo on those names, add a couple of more but that group is who is running things up there now and have been, theses are the people that were at the genesis of the forward rebels movement. Their giganticly over inflated senses of self importance and their win at any cost attitudes have damaged the UMN Football Program for quite sometime: But make no mistake these bastards have no intention of going away and settling for what is to come with the penalties that are handed down by the NCAA. The only way that they are backed away is to be public outed and tied to this scandal most of theses assholes will stop at nothing to let that happen.

Off topic....but, speaking of Archie, tell me I'm not the only with a serious case of manning fatigue.

I have long been of the opinion that freeze is a megalomaniac; therefore I respectfully disagree with anyone who underestimates his role in the shitshow.
