Lot of Texas teams. I'm generally OK with that, though. Lot of MSU fans in Texas and a lot of good recruits in Texas.

I try to stay in the USM threads, but I figured I would help you all out.... I too like piecing together schedules. LSU was the first to release their schedule yesterday.

http://www.cdispatch.com/sports/article.asp?aid=59089

2/28 - at McNeese State
3/7-3/9 - Utah Valley

Corpus Christi field will be TAMUCC, MSU, Nicholls and one other team.

Don't know if we're still playing you guys in Pearl.

I'd be surprised if we aren't playing USM in Pearl. We play Ole Miss four times every year so not that big of a deal to play USM four times either.

Man our RPI should be amazing. The construction causing us to play on the road so much plus playing teams like Houston, southern miss, and ull will be huge.

Not to mention Sam Houston state.

It's going to suck so bad no being able to see hardly any of the games the first month of the season.

I would be excited about the USM series, but I imagine they are going to try to make it had for us to get tickets again.

I plan on going to Houston for the Shriner's.

Funny how a USM alum knows that.

I'm going to try to go for at least a couple games of each of the tournaments in Corpus and Houston.

Utah state home opener?

Not sure of dates but home series with:

A&M
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Florida
Vandy

Heck of a home schedule.

ETA...first weekend of SEC 3/16 should be home series as the next two are on road. No way they would start us off with 3 road series.

3/16, 4/20, 5/11, 5/17 are open dates left
Arkansas, Kentucky, Florida, Vandy teams to fill.

Utah state home opener?

"Cannizaro said MSU's home schedule will begin March 9 against Utah Valley State. It will be MSU's final non-conference weekend before opening Southeastern Conference play." per the Dispatch (http://www.cdispatch.com/sports/article.asp?aid=59089).

That's my expectation as well per the Dispatch article (http://www.cdispatch.com/sports/article.asp?aid=59089) “The SEC schedule also will have some tweaks to accommodate the construction at Dudy Noble Field. MSU submitted a special request to the SEC this spring to alter its conference schedule in 2018. Typically, SEC schedules feature alternating road and home weekends. Exceptions are made for a two-week road trip and a two-week homestand. MSU's schedule will be made up exclusively of those two-week stints, meaning it will play two weeks at home and then two weeks on the road in that sequence for the entire schedule.”

Wish we could've got a few games east too. North Atlanta & north Florida has some of the best high school baseball/perfect game/triple crown/travel ball players around. Would've been nice to see us play a series or two in Atlanta & Jacksonville or somewhere close.

Either way, hard to complain given the construction.

If that's the case, then the above schedule can't be correct, can it?

True - that proposed order gets screwed up by the segment that includes @ LSU, vs. TSUN, @ Auburn. Seems like precedence was given to not upsetting the home/road rotation in the division. The article quoted was also published a while back, presumably before the SEC schedule was finalized.
