Before camp I was one saying Hill will probably RS this year. So far into camp he is probably getting the 2nd most carries behind Aeris this year. He is the real deal. I saw him some at Columbus, he was every bit the runner Cam Akers was. Made Madison Central look silly in the playoffs. Idk if we have had a freshman RB like this since Mullen has been at State. Whatever preseason shit magazine ranked our RBs as the 13th best RB unit in the SEC needs to be fired. Immediately

They're probably going off what they saw last year and since Holloway was the starter for most of the season our rb group looked like shit. I think that was because of Mullen's way of playing older guys.

Do y'all think there will be an attrition at the RB position after Kylin jumps some of the upperclassmen?

That's exciting to hear. How does Aeris look so far? I think he's going to have a break out season

I don't disagree with their ranking. This is big boy football. Folks don't give you shit, you have to earn it. We probably deserve that ranking. Now our RBs need to go out and show they deserve better. You want to be top 5 in the league? Well show you deserve it. Don't sit around waiting on some magazine to give it to you.

Kylin Hill would have been rated the top RB if he had played at Clinton and Akers was at Columbus.

To add: Grantham has said that Willie Gay is in the "upper echelon" of most talented LBs he has ever coached

Have you seen practice or is this off word of mouth?

What is Kylin doing so well at in camp that is separating him?

Wow. That includes Jarvis Jones and Alec Ogletree. I hope Willie turns out half as good as those guys

Actually I just read an article by SR that said Hev is spending a lot of time working on blocking schemes. It seems more than any other Fall practice to date.

I'm feeling wooly. We're actually going to RTGDFB!!!!!! That plus Nick's elusiveness and two TE sets and we could be very dangerous this year.

You have to figure if the average fan is fed up with the O Line coaching, the way above average big money fan is as well and some pressure might be being put on him.

OL has to step up and play better. Otherwise, it will be more of the same... have success running the ball against the bottom tier of the league and struggle to move the football on the ground against the upper echelon of the league. Doesn't matter who the RB is.

Yeah, it appears from some articles I've read and a few comments from some in-the-know folks on the MSU FB groups we are definitely going to run the ball way more than we have in the last couple of seasons.

I'm sure Mullen hs been a little pissed that our run game sunk so low. That's one of the reasons Hev is working the OL so hard for blocking schemes.

That's right, he's now a Pass Block Specialist (PBS).

I just talked to KH a few minutes ago. Said the defense is nasty all the way around. Gabe has been the top receiver, and couch looks good. Mixon was also mentioned. The D is making it hard for the O to even get a play off.

from the horses mouth... He looks like a beast by the way. He'll be 220 by camp end...

If Myles is our top WR this year, we gonna have some problems.

The problem is that KH doesn't have a measuring stick. He has not seen our past defenses, nor has he seen defenses from opposing teams. Because he has never played. Of course our defense looks nasty compared to Columbus High School.

Having said that, I haven't been this excited about a new running back since Jerious Norwood.

They've been in pads for what, 3 days? I wouldn't put a lot of stock in anything that is said about Hill, Myles, or anyone else at this point.

I disagree. We know Gray & Mixon can play.

If Myles is our top WR, then that means he's stepped up

Myles looked good a couple of seasons ago. Somehow forgot how to catch last year.

They're different types of players IMO. Akers is more of a Percy Harvin type athlete who can play running back and play in the slot some. Hill is more of a traditonal SEC running back that has size, power, and speed and can handle carrying the ball 20-25 times a game. Hill has the advantage of playing running back in high school whereas Akers played QB a lot and so he is going to have to make a little more of an adjustment than Hill because he is going to have to learn some new positions or get more experience at running back.

I think hiring DJ Looney and demoting Sallach was a warning to Hevesy. Great time for Dolla Bill to be a recruit. We'll see if it offsets slowplaying Cole Smith and he better hope our two o-linemen recruits get cleared soon.

He has been the talk of camp so far. Him and Willie Gay. If there is ever going to be true freshman that Mullen will play its these 2. Gay was and is every bit the athlete Akers was. Kylin Hill is as violent a runner as I've ever seen. He totes the rock. Lots of hype and I know they havent played a snap but these 2 are the real deal

Im sorry Percy Harvin aint shit on Cam Akers. Im just telling you. Akers will truck you, he can juke you, he can throw, catch the whole deal. He could probably play QB if FSU wanted him too. He turned a 4 yard loss into a 2 yard gain against us and he made about 4 moves in the backfield. I know he had tons of big plays but that run is what stuck with me

I got it man... you convinced me. A guy with an NFL highlight reel "ain't shit" compared to a kid who has never taken a college snap. I have seen the light, I concede this round.
