Anybody have an idea how many spots will have open next year just losing seniors and the empty scholarships we already have? Seems like we're headed for a big class, and just wondering how much processing we're gonna be looking at.

Football, basketball or baseball?

Remember scholarships are one year contracts/obligations whatever the most appropriate word is.

We will probably sign 25 and then adjust as necessary.

We will have between 76 and 79 players on scholarship by the end of camp. Where that number ends up depends on the academic clearance (or lack thereof) of Noah Eliss, M. Richardson, and Cordavian Suggs. We currently have only 10 seniors slated to graduate after 2017. One of those 10 is Dez Harris, who lost close to 2 full seasons to knee injury. So, he is a possible medical redshirt candidate and could return if he so chooses.

So, completely discounting any voluntary attrition, injuries, academic issues, violation of team rules, etc., we will have between 15 and 19 open spots for the 2018 class. Of course, some or all of those things above are certain to occur, so the end result will probably be that we can sign close to the full 25. "Can" being the key word, as we are entering the 3rd year in a row of being 5+ schollies under the 85 limit. So we'll just have to see what we do.

Bottom line, numbers will work themselves out.
If there is a big time that commits to us on NSD or late in the process
We will make room....
