On XMs The First Team with McElroy and Lugenbill just now. Still spinning away.
First, he was not surprised by this. No one in Oxford was.
Was quick to point out this has zero to do with NCAA. NOT, I repeat this was NOT for recruits (that tells me it definitely was).
Everyone knew the NCAA was after Freeze (welcome to the party Neal). Now they can back off. Bjork is actually probably relieved bc they needed a "fall guy for the NCAA" and it was probably going to be him. Now they dont need one.
Implied the NCAA may go light now.
Bjork wanted to get rid of Freeze, but couldnt, because ALL major Ole Miss boosters are so deeply religious that they wanted to keep Freeze bc they thought he was a man of God (vomit).
Im sure Im leaving some out. But man, these guys sure can spin. You gotta give them that.

Oh, and one more thing - Neal said Ole Miss could have covered this up if they wanted to, but didn't even try. It was one 60 second phone call they could have just redacted and made it go away, but they are so morally superior that they themselves investigated it, got to the bottom of it, and acted on it swiftly and decisively. Kudos to Ole Miss!

So let me get this straight so the NCAA understands -

A strategy of defend Hugh to the death when facing with 21 Level I NCAA infractions but fire him when he is exposed at having a side piece is supposed to call off the NCAA dogs because they showed "moral turpitude"? Suurre, the COI will buy that.

Interesting....

The job of a compliance department is to review call logs & provide overall institutional control over the recruiting process.

Will be interesting to hear how Ole Miss explains how their compliance department needed Houston Nutt's lawyer to uncover this stuff

Prediction: The "pattern" will be primarily January phone calls.

This is NCAA related:
1) I heard on the radio that it was a Miami number ... possibly for a Florida recruit ?
2) If there was no NCAA investigation there would have not been a Nutt lawsuit

Also, who was paying for this crap?

"It was one 60 second phone call"

Yet Bjork was quoted as saying it was a PATTERN of personal misconduct.

Why are people still allowed on shows after they've been known to carry water for that hypocrite? They're just going to go with the company line regardless of what goes on.

Remember, Neal said Wednesday that Steve was trying to shop this story to lots of national media, and no one would take it. So, no one took it, Neal?

Also, Steve didn't have to shop any story. Tons of national media is in contact with Mars.

LMAO...McReady... your journalistic chops were majorly damaged after it was revealed that you were reporting false info from Freeze. No one believes your lies anymore. None of this is going away for Ole Miss. I can PROMISE you it's going to get much worse for them.

With as many Ole Miss people now saying that this doesn't surprise them doesn't that mean they have all been essentially covering this up for a while? So basically they are saying they don't care if their outwardly religious coach is ****ing hookers on the side as long as he's winning. Morally inferior bunch of cocksuckers.

So, now they are trying to convince everyone that ole miss is just one huge God fearing church? Now, they are the victims because a serpent managed to get into their deeply religous house and commit all of these awful sins. Mother of God, please make this stop!!

Yep, Godfrey and the other UM spin machine are parroting their new talking points. Anyone have that timeline of how their talking points have changed every time something else comes out? Time to add another item to the list. So now they say it was a pattern with Beaver calling beaver but aren't they supposed to audit those phone records every so often?
