When will Ole Miss go before the COI

I don't know if this has been said, but does anyone have a timeline on when this might occur.

If I remember correctly the COI is scheduled to meet in September and October. We don't know which meeting will be for OM but the assumption is that they will rule on UNC in Sept (older case) and OM in Oct.

UNC has not gone in front of the COI itself. Last I checked they and the NCAA were arguing over which charges went under the new matrix and which the old set-up. There was a mutual understanding that UNC had missed the suspense date for their written response to the COI. UNM may be ahead of UNC in the process.

I think these may end up running concurrently with a September or October hearing followed by a December announcement. December makes sense. Season is over and kids have yet to formally sign letters of intent.

I was hoping things would get wrapped up sooner so the NCAA would have handed down penalties in June so there would have been an exodus of players between then and now. Would have been icing on the cake watching OM scramble to put a team together going into fall camp. Shitbirds.

The exodus will occur but announcing penalties in late-November will then give ALL players the time necessary to find a team. If the ncaa announced the penalties next month, the players will have very few teams with spots to jump to. Sure Shay bae would be able to find a team, but most would not. Besides, what's another 5-win season before dropping the hammer anyway? Prolong their agony as long as possible and make it as painful as can be BECAUSE again, their cheating-based success (as limited as it was) came at other teams' expense.

Players would not have to transfer during that time...they could wait and transfer after the school year. See USC two year Bowl ban.

It is all about time of the year...once this got extended UM wanted to make sure penalties were not handed down early-mid summer to keep the transfers down. Had they had a two year BB in June they would have seen Jrs leave...now if it is extended to two years it will be less because some will stay because of only having 1 year left. This is key because transfers can not be made up if the NCAA limits total # of scholarships for that first year along with class reductions.

USC was helped greatly by only having 3 or so transfers if I remember correctly.
