I really wish someone would've asked him "If you cheated so rampantly to get all these croots, why in the hell did you go 5-7?"

I just wish ANY reporter with balls would ask him about the Anderson quote and say " Hey, Hugh, why did you lie to that kid?"

I really believe he would quit on the spot

As I alluded to yesterday, Ole Miss needs to quickly find a way to bring this saga to a close. The very detailed lawsuit filed yesterday proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Hugh Freeze is nothing more than a self-serving liar. Articles like this (and the CL piece yesterday) will keep coming and coming and the distractions will grow. Hugh Freeze is done. Accept it and move on.

To be honest if I made 5 million a year and something like this was hanging over my head I would say and do what I must to keep the job.

Especially if I know where the bodies are buried. Hugh just needs heppin'.
Nutt is going to get another payday from the bears, one way or another.
Looks like Hugh is looking for one too.

No, they need to fight this to the end.

Only way the good Rev. is missing out on the rest of his $$$ is if he gets show caused. If OM fires him they have to pay him. But I'm sure he will give his millions to the poor and needy regardless he's such a Godly man and role model*****

Which makes me realize, you can be a hypocritical lying snake oil salesman and work for the most obnoxious delusional shitty school in the nation and still be a millionaire in this country.

Freeze is going to get a show cause and unm may pay him very little publicly, but the network will have to pay up because Freeze knows too much. Maybe knows as much or more than anybody else. Depending on how the money transfer is done, maybe the IRS will take an interest.

I'm sure there's some kind of agreement in place that he gets compensated if he gets burned, but I'm thinking the boosters who are supposed to pay may have second thoughts in the aftermath when their program is in shambles and they have absolutely nothing to show for it other than a vacated Sugar Bowl and a few recruiting championships. I know I would.

eta: There's always the threat of blackmail, but I'm not sure Freeze would exercise it if it came to it. That would undeniably expose his true colors and prove everything that's been said about him to be true; not sure he could handle that.

I just can't imagine that any coach, assistant or head, would incriminate themselves by voluntarily spilling the beans on a corrupt institution that would surely give the death penalty as far as ever coaching again.

Very popular saying : "They know where the bodies are buried" , however usually they are the ones that helped bury them.

thf24 and shannondawg, you both make good points and you may very well be right. I just figure Freeze is never going to coach again and this will be his one shot at the gold. Whether he would pull the trigger or not on the whole network is yet to be seen, but to me he's a loose cannon (no pun intended on cannon motors, but that is kinda funny). Just another twist and turn.

Y'all give Hugh Freeze way too much credit. He is an amateur. He is a rube. He has no spine, and he has no balls. He was hired for a reason - to display this god-first, aww shucks demeanor while the network was freed to do their own dirty work. The only thing Hugh Freeze is good at is being opportunistic - he got in good with the Touhys at Briarcrest and parlayed that into a gig at Ole Miss when Oher signed there. Then he made some connects with some high level boosters while serving as recruiting coordinator, and some strings were pulled for him to get the Lambuth job.

I give him some credit for being innovative as an offensive coach. But he hasn't really shown the ability to adjust and won't be successful without superior talent against SEC defenses.

Hugh Freeze is barely a little more than a decade removed from begging for the University of Memphis women's basketball coaching gig. Too many of us either don't know that, or have forgotten it. He didn't play football beyond the high school level (If you can call Senatobia that). Hell, he didn't even go to Ole Miss, despite growing up down the road from Oxford and proclaiming his gig as his "dream job."

Yep, this will be his last shot at a big payday. It depends on if he wants to go somewhere and be retired before 50 or he wants some type of career. Jim Tressel hasn't gotten another head coaching gig so you have to assume Freeze is done as well. I would think some UM boosters would pay him some kind of severance just to keep his mouth shut. If Freeze gets fired without any type of payment, I guess we will see how much he truly loves UM over his family's future.
