Griffin McDowell from Georgia. Being recruited as a Center. Saw him at the satellite camp at Mercer then he came to MSU & camped a week later & got his offer.

Good to see us getting into South GA for OL. FSU, UF and UGa have been picking big uglies from this area for years. Lee County HS has become a respectable program in the last 10 years or so. They play in a tough region with Valdosta and Northside-Warner Robins - two State powers.

We haven't thought about Cole Smith in months. He's not interested & we aren't chasing him.

He may be the best player ever, but it is interesting that the 247 database rates 185 players in Georgia and he is not one of them....

I am sure he looked good in camp for Hev to offer.

Hev needs to develop "corndog stomping" mentalities in our OL.

Really really like this prospect.
- great initial first step and following
- watch his hands/arms just prior to contact, he is PUMPING & PUNCHING
- drops his hips and eyes stay up and alert
- watch on his zone blocking, he literally beats the LBs to the hole and is waiting on him several times in his video.
- you can tell he is a very cerebral player, but also plays with little mean streak.
- great size and length. No "bad" weight on him.
- uses his hands really well, doesn't overextend nor leans with his shoulder against the opposition when blocking
