It's fine. It's freakin flower and oil!!!!! Had an old coonass man that you could barely understand talk me into buying some one time. His gumbo was the best I've ever had.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if he used the store bought roux in his gumbo. He just told me that it was absolutely fine to use.

Buying roux from the store? What's the point? You might as well just go a couple more isles over and get the gumbo in the tub out of the frozen foods section.
