Besides a family cookout tomorrow, I'm not sure what this weekend will have in store. I have a Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA calling my name tonight though...

Yes Sir...As long as I cook red beans and rice, homemade spaghetti, and homemade chicken pot pie- my boys think I'm the best ever.

Cooked one of my last bags of trout and drank my last 90 minute dogfish. Also did some fried jalape?os and "chips" in the oven. Hop Fiasco now.

With all this rain you'll need an offshore boat to find some damn trout lol

If the forecast holds, I'm going to see if I can find ANY decent water around Cat in the morning, but I'm not holding my breath.

No cooking tonight; going out (as soon as the boss gets home). I am pre-gaming it a bit with some cheap German beer, though...

Well, you have to elaborate now.

Also, did you change the GIF from one that said Prost to one that doesn't? If not, I may need to stop drinking ASAP.

1 1/4 inch thick T- Bones from the " Reduced for quick sale" section. Walked out to the garden and pulled some yellow squash, zucchini and tomatoes. Stir fried the squash and zucchini with some portobello mushrooms. Diced the maters for a salad. T-Bones pulled from the grill at 125 degrees and allowed to rest and settle at about 133. Washed it down with a couple of Lucky Town Pub Ales. Wasn't terrible!

Haha. Its just Carlsberg (technically, Dutch beer). Yeah I changed it. For some reason the one I originally posted stopped working, so I had to find a suitable replacement.

Damn sounds good. I haven been to Amerigo in years.

This Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA is as good as I remembered.

Prediction? Pain.

Drinking El Dorado 12 Year Old rum and listening to old Pink Floyd records. My first summer project has been to listen to the Floyd's entire back catalog on vinyl in reverse chronological order. I started a week or so ago and I'm already to Atom Heart Mother. So while I have no idea what I'm cooking for my family this weekend, I feel like I'm spending my time wisely.

I seen it dawg

Smoking a Boston Butt on the BGE today. Never have tried a butt before. Any pointers ? Right now I'm smoking it with Pecan Wood, Indirect heat with Water and Apple Cider vinegar for moisture.

Also have some Dog Fish Head 90 IPA that was bootlegged from the northeast to drink while cooking.

Very nice. You make it out to Cat today? My dad and a buddy ran to the marsh between bands and got a limit of reds but got rained on the way back.

Tonight was leftover pork, CWS, and a crown black since we're going to 5pm mass tomorrow

Never made it out. Checked the radar at 4 and wasn't going to take the family out in that. (If it were just me, I'd make some dumb runs. Ha). Watched the radar all morning and those cells were popping up all over the sound. If the weather isn't better next weekend, I'll be making one of those questionable runs.

Stone IPA now.

Fried some fish tonight, with baked potato salad, grilled asparagus, and scratch tartar. Started drinking beer, but switched to bourbon. Not a bad night.

Speckled trout tacos tonight. Went for a boat ride today, without any plans to fish and ran into some trout. Kept 5.

nice. quick question, are those the salt water variety? I saw some people off of one of those Galveston piers pulling in trout. they were using bobblers. not sure how deep they were fishing. are they as good to eat as the fresh water variety? my son and I just rented some rods and bottom fished. only caught some small cats. I did pull in a baby shark though. my son and I have only fished together a few times. we had to drag him away around 1:30 a.m.

Speck, is this not cannibalism?***

SpeckleDawg

They are. One of the most popular ways to catch them is a "popping" cork and live shrimp about 18" below it. I definitely prefer them over freshwater trout (white, mild meat). That said, speckled trout aren't actually in the trout family. They are drum.

Your son has the fever! I've been trying to shake it my whole life.
