Last year 2 guys drafted in the top 10 rounds didn't sign. 2. Now there are some top 10 talents they don't get drafted in the top 10 because they have repeatedly said they were going to school, like the pitcher who signed w auburn. But if they are actually drafted that high, it's over. Teams aren't taking those chances w those picks.

I guess it is all about how much they are willing to throw at them. Maholm turned down $750k in the 17th round and 3 years later signed for $2.2 Million as the 8th pick so a pretty good return. He also was pitching for the Pirates pretty quickly.
