We already have Matt Wyatt on the radio why not hire another NON BULLDOG to close the deal completely...
Maybe we could have hired Dick Cross instead??? SMH

I don't think I will even understand the Matt Wyatt hatred. Just don't get it.

A serious question.

Was there even a qualified and experienced SEC caliber announcer with MSU connections to consider?

I'm not aware of one.

Occasionally filling in for Jim Ellis doesn't count.

If this was a national search why wasn't Vin Scully or Bob Uecker hired...Hell Verne Lundquist might have applied ******

Matt Wyatt does a great job. Just glad we didn't hire Kohlmeyer or whatever his name is.

I listened to the samples on hailstate website of him doing a football game and a Kentucky basketball game. Sounded pretty good.

Just listened to his Play by Play on Hailstate.com, he does a good job, but I rather have that baritone voice like Jack

+1. It would be well worth it for the drinking contests. He also probably wouldn't do any coke until after the game was over, probably.

It's gonna take some time to grow on me. I always thought that Jack was irreplaceable, but Jim did an outstanding job also. It's just gonna take some getting used to.

I applied, but after they called my first reference (C34) they dropped me because he wouldn't stop bitching about Hev.

He sounds fine. Got to come up with a few one liners of his own like "he cannot go" or "youngster was corralled and brought down at that point". Miss those.

On Hailstate Highlights. Only other time I needed it was back in 2014 when we were on CBS with Boss Hogg and Roscoe.**

About 3 packs of lucky strikes/day for ten years and he'll get there.

Ha....exactly. With SECN and every game televised, these guys can go full Harry Doyle at any time and it won't matter.

"One hit? One GD hit?"

"You can't say GD on the radio!"

"Who cares, nobody's listening"

I know Ben Ingram's Dad played at MSU so he's absolute best we could do as far as MSU ties. Announcing for the Braves is his dream job so I wasn't really expecting us to pull him.

Since I have season tickets, go to one road game every year and the other games on TV I havn't listen to a game on the radio in years. Really doesn't matter. Hell they could hire Homer Simpson far as I care.
