We're obviously going with that approach and pitchers are cock shotting the first pitch and we look at it. If you know it's coming first pitch, rip the damn cover off it. When the other teams learn you will swing at a first pitch, they'll start throwing more low percentage pitches which increases the batters chance of getting ahead in the count. Thus increasing your chances of getting another cock shot fastball. Maybe there's some metrics behind the decision but I'd rather just trust my instincts on a first pitch fastball.
