2) even a great MSU team like 1989, 1990, 2013, 2016 would have a major challenge this weekend
3) we have nothing to lose this weekend, we aren't supposed to be here
4) corn dogs are going to pucker hard if we win game-1, total freak out...they are the USSR and we are USA in lake Placid...we are Sparta and they are Persians

I'm super pumped about our future and this weekend is the type that creates legends and reputations.

He's probably embarrassed because when we let LSU use ours when they came to Starkville, I saw at least one LSU player- Papierski- asking Cann for hitting advice.

Here's the difference between us and LSU:

1) They have a healthy pitching staff. When we had a reasonably healthy pitching staff last year- we won the series in Baton Rouge and were able to match Lange and Poche'. LSU showed me in our series with them that they are OK taking walks from our guys.

2) They have seniors that were drafted after round 12 that they were able to return back to school. We have to do that at a higher rate.

The pitching staff issue will take care of itself in time with healing and rehab- and we should be better on that front next year.

We don't have very many draft eligible juniors on this team so short term we won't see Cannizaro affect this very much next year. But as time goes on I think we will. We have to develop a culture like LSU where players want to come back to MSU to win championships rather than take money after their junior year. I do think Cann will help us with that.

Manieri seems to be a quite the bitch. I don't know if the pressure of coaching at lsu makes it worse, but damn he is always bitching and moaning about something. I think his biggest problem with the whole Cannizaro thing is that the lsu players apparently really really liked Andy, too much for Manieri's liking.
