What was your experience this weekend? Describe the environment. What was your interaction with USM fans? Was the championship game 70% USM fans more or less? How did MSU fans get tickets?

Watching on tv: the sight of their off centered press box drives me crazy. Where is the rest of it?

Got a text at 8:30 last night asking if I wanted a ticket to the final game. Made it from to Hburg from the coast just in time to see them with a 4-1 lead and considered going home. Stuck around and enjoyed the hell out of it. Their fans were PISSED about that call at first and saw a couple throw their chairs down and leave. Ducked out quick after the final out and now struggling at work today. Worth it!

I'll bet they loved it when they called Jake out for tagging early. talk about a shitty call. Jake had at least two other times the Umps called him out when he was safe.Being a cry baby, that is the USM experience.

Pretty boring. I stood in the GA section Friday night and one mustard buzzard yelled at me and my buddy all night to sit down. The problem was I was all the way down on the far rail down by the bullpen so I wasn't blocking the view of anyone in the GA section and he was in "the roost." Only other thing I noticed was during the SA game Sunday night a southern fan got one of our fans kicked out for yelling at the umpire, but he wasn't using vulgar language or anything because the guy was one section over from us.

Was he escorted out by police in handcuffs? 2nd question, was he Ron Polk?

If the NCAA insists on localizing regionals, they need to insure there's enough seating and tickets for those wanting to attend (or at least close). That park was slightly better than a 6A high school park.
USM fans are a miserable bunch. In talking to a couple, I mentioned football season and they said they don't care about it because baseball is the only sport they're very good at. Followed that up with ,"when baseball ends, we look forward to baseball season, not football".
I kinda felt sorry for them.
I do give Keg & Barrel a 5* rating if you want some cold beer and good food though.

This is odd since they have been sporadically good for their league. They have been more successful in baseball so I guess that is something. I could understand if they didn't pay attention to basketball. My wife actually said they shouldn't be allowed to host if all they have is a high school field. It is just hard to compete with The Dude.

Also want to add: me and my buddy had GA books for the whole weekend. The first day we get there and we're just going to get rid of our tickets to southern's first game. Ended up giving them to 2 college kids around our age for 10 bucks which was actually under face value. I would say 20-30 southern fans just ripped us for trying to sell our tickets insisting that we should be giving them away. Right after another southern fan walked up and asked if we or any of our needed two tickets for the night game in the chair backs. We told him we had tickets but our friends needed some and he told us he was selling them for 150 a piece.

If they think they're good at baseball, they need to rethink that. They just had a 50 win season go down the tubes to 2/3 of a baseball team. The Diamond Dawgs are the definition of good.

Only got to go to South game Sunday evening. Many USM fans stayed to cheer on Soutn Alabama...and we're the ones scared to play them? But on their way out from their USA-USM game, a good bit of people stopped to sell their tickets. Price ranging from $10-$20.
Sat in chair backs with GA tickets and didn't any heck from them.
One of our fans yelled profanity at at SA player and USM fan got him escorted to his actual seats by a policeman (MSU guy did go too far)..
Overall, not a bad experience. It's not Dudy Noble, but you know.

And I'm still pretty confident the guy was out at 1st. It was extremely close and tough to tell because they would never slow it down enough, but it looked to me like it hit Rooker's glove just before he hit the bag. It was definitely close enough to not be a completely blown call, like Mangum's tag was.

I got two 3rd row seats right behind home plate for $20 each for Friday night's game from an Eagle. I saw one Southern fan openly cheering for South Alabama although you could tell they were all hoping we would lose.
We haven't played well at the games I've attended this year so I didn't go to any more games (you're all welcome).
I have a couple of good friends who are Southern fans, one played baseball for them, so I've tried to keep it civil throughout the series. My buddies are good guys who will root for us against the corn dogs. I've got some State friends who hate Southern almost as much as Ole Miss but it's never been that way for me. Maybe I've just been around the best of their 10 fans.

Made it to every game except the Chicago game. Every game had a good contingent of State Fans but none of the games was an overall sell out Standing room only crowd. Might have been packed on Monday if not for the rain and late start of 2nd game. You could find a open reserved seat even if you had a GA ticket. Lots of tickets available outside gate for 930 Monday night game and their ticket gate was selling walkups. They would probably rethink this morning on how they handled the ticket packages with hosting two visiting teams so close to Hattiesburg in State and SouthAl and probably could have made some extra on resell of NON-USM game tickets and generated some bigger attendance. The "sell out" status and available TV probably kept a lot of people away even for some USM fans.

I thought most of USM fans were cordial. They had their crazies who thought razzing the State players between pitches would get under their skin but we normally came though with a big play. It was Southern's moment to get a win against State in a Big situation (felt like us trying to get a big win against Bama in football). Lot of good Southern fans who have a passion for their school and just want their teams to succeed. Had some sitting around me who congratulated us on the victory and wished us good luck in Baton Rouge. They just have some who carry the shoulder chip to far.

As a team USM can hit the ball and are pretty decent defensively. I think their pitching depth was comparable to ours right now and evened the table for us. The job by Billingsly in 1st game was an MVP effort and saved the staff for that 2nd game.

We are a gritty bunch and earned another weekend of play. LSU is the hot team in the country but I dont see us going down without a fight. The Road to Omaha! Go Dawgs!

The seating area is ok, not a bad seat. My daughter's roommate gave us two tickets on the front row behind the USA dugout, so that was nice. What got me was there wasn't a sellout crowd despite announcing the tickets were sold out before the tournament even started.

The men's bathroom was built in the 70s and looked like it. Concessions wasn't any better than a high school program. They were struggling to keep up.

Fans weren't bad, though we weren't at a USM game. Plenty of State fans at the Sunday night game so that was fun.

I'd also like to tell the USM chubster behind me, with her milk sacks sitting on her fupa, that just because they're big, doesn't mean you need to hang them out there and believe they're attractive. They're not.

I attended the Sunday night game vs USA. Walked up about 30 minutes before the game and bought a GA ticket for $10 from a USM fan that was leaving campus. I sat along the wall in the GA (Roost) area for half an inning and then made my way into the chairback seats and grabbed on the many empty ones. 90% MSU crowd at that point. I also witnessed the USM fan having the MSU fan removed from his seat near our dugout, but I couldn't hear the reason.

Most of the USM fans I encountered were nice folks. I could tell some of the ones I knew were a little butthurt that we had just pounded them in that first game, which I understand. This was their time to shine and they failed miserably.

The stadium is nothing to boast about, but it's nicer than some of the SEC stadiums we play at. Overall a good regional and I'm glad I went.

Bought GA tickets from a USM fan for more than I wanted to pay. Sat in a reserved seat behind home plate in the UIC-USM game and no one ever came and told me to get up, but got so hot I ended up standing up at top row of bleachers to catch a breeze. Hottest game I've ever sat in. Sat in reserved seat for the first USA game and never had to move. Sold my USA-USM tickets for 25.00 a piece to USM fans. Sat in reserved seat for UIC game. 2nd USA game sat behind home plate on second row and talked with USM fans the whole game, all very nice even though I was probably sitting in their seats. Went home Sunday night, worked yesterday and had no plans to go down last night ( I thought there would only be one game and I was going to go down there today if we won). Realized in the top of eighth another game would be played, left Brandon at 8:40 and got to ballpark in top of second, down 4-1.

Had a drunk USM fan in the Roost tell me Sunday night he wanted to play us because he thought USA was better than us. Wish I would've seen him last night.....

All USM fans were nice, I did see the guy get kicked out of his seat when a Southern fan notified security. He moved about two rows up and sat.

Got tickets easy Sunday and Monday. Sat out along the right field line Sunday - was cool to be able to enjoy a beer but not very comfortable leaning against a concrete wall.

Monday we had seats right behind our dugout and sat in front of Corky Palmer. He was extremely nice and talked to us the whole time - he coached a few guys I grew up with. Was very complimentary of our team and loved Gridley/Stovall in the middle infield. Said homeruns are nice but I love it when a kid can flash the leather.

The guys across the aisle from us about bit through the net behind home plate yelling at the ump. They bitched and moaned all game. Everything from the call to taking to long between pitches, even yelling at their own players.
