Tonight is just a microcosm of our problems. Plumlee gets out of a bases loaded no outs jam. Then gets rocked about two innings later or less. And same with Jolly- three up and three down and now all of a sudden he's he guy I want throwing at the target if I'm sitting my ass in a dunking booth and I want to stay dry.

It normally does. They say 75% of leadoff walks score in MLB. Not an official stat but obviously if you just put runners on they're more likely to score.

He's turned into trying to do too much. He had one good at bat this game and drilled a single. He still doesn't understand the concept that they are not going to pitch to him and will let him get out if he swings at shit stuff. He struck out on two fastballs that a 7 foot guy couldn't hit. Our whole lineup has been disappointing down the stretch and non-competitive. We have Mangum leading off the eighth but I doubt we do anything in the eighth either.

People keep saying this. I just don't think it will happen. Our roster numbers are too short and it would be dumb to cut guys with experience. We're at 21-22 on a 35 man roster. And of course we lose the seniors and Rooker to the draft at least. I'm guessing we'll bring in 15-17 of our signees. And now apparently the NCAA is making coaches cut guys passively aggressively.

Now will they pitch less when we have healthy guys back and certain guys have more experience? Absolutely. But most of them will be back wearing maroon and white next year.
