Here is a look by vote numbers. It appears that the numbers are only being updated every five minutes so you will not see it change real-time.

The fact that McKay is sitting at 0% means they're probably not going to use this vote to determine any bit of the award.

*The "fans" will be treated as one "voter" in the voting process for the 2017 Golden Spikes Award, and their vote will count for ~0.5% of the overall vote (one of over 200 voters in the committee). In the semifinalist round the three players receiving the highest percentage of the fan vote will each receive one vote from the "fans." In the finalist round, the one player receiving the highest percentage of the fan vote will receive one vote from the "fans."

Per the Golden Spike Website - so we have Rook getting his SemiFinalist vote right now with the Iowa and LSU players

Both have been incredible and deserve to win. I hope Rooker (great Bulldawg role model) wins it but what McKay has done on the mound and at the plate, I agree with you.

What McKay has done on the mound and at the plate is usually done every year or so. AJ Reed did it recently in the SEC and won the Golden Spikes for it but what Rooker is doing has only been done once in the SEC (toughest conference in baseball) and hasn't happened in a long time.

I couldn't fault someone for voting either way but I would vote for someone who is out of this world hitting than someone who is very good at pitching and hitting. Rooker is hands down the best offensive player, not even a discussion but McKay isn't the best hitter or pitcher. Do you give the Golden Spikes to someone who might not be a First Team All American at either position?

Is the Adams guys form Iowa a legit contender or does he just have 30% of the vote because he is 1st on the list?

If I were giving the award I would give it to Rooker. No question there. What he has accomplished on and off the field, work ethic, student of the game, excels in the classroom, great role model, etc. It just seems like the media has fallen in love with McKay so I wouldn't be surprised if he won it.

Yes, good job peeps. Yesterday Deichmann had 23% to Rooker's 24%, and Adams was a distant third. Now Rook has 50%, Adams is at 36%, and D is at 5%. WTF? I guess a lot of votes have been cast in 24 hours.
