I know we've discussed this topic ad nauseum, but saw that mlb.com has Bryce Hutchinson being drafted in the 9th round. Is there any chance he ever steps on campus?

I quickly scrolled the mock draft and saw Quentin Holmes being taken in the 2nd round (and Brent Rooker.) Is there any chance in hell he would turn down 2nd round money? I saw in an interview a few months ago that an education was important to him - i figure the money will be importanter though.

Holmes and anderson both arent going to make it here. there are several others as well that we probably lose.

Cann's and MSU's elite future depends on the getting many draftable, non-1st round players too campus, like Hutchinson, Lovell, Hatcher, Allen, Westburg, and Bryant. The only 1st rounders that will ever make it to campus will be the children of Elite Dawgs.

By the way, my two-year-old was the biggest kid born in St Louis county in 2014. He is long, not fat. He already wrestles 4-year-olds to the ground - to takeaway their chocolate milk.

Yeah, 0 chance on Holmes. I don't know enough about the others to say one way or another, but if a guy is projected 5th round or later, that's usually when you at least have a chance of getting them. Every once in a while, you'll get lucky on a guy in the top few rounds and get them, but it's incredibly rare.

Unless it's my kid. I would NEVER EVER try to convince my kid to turn down 1st round money to go to school. School will always be there. 1st round can be lost by going to college.

I would tell them he's going to State and they wouldn't waste a first round pick on him to start with. That's kind of loosely how it works nowadays.

I'm more worried about the JUCO guys than the high school guys. Rey Rivieria, Pearson McMahan, Troy Bacon, and Tyreque Reed are the guys to watch there.

Ashcraft was drafted in the 12th round and stayed, so it can be done.
