He's definitely a better fielding 1st baseman than as an OF but he's way too fast (leading SEC in steals) for any manager in the pros to justify wasting that speed at 1st. They are drooling that they can get a bat with speed to play corner OF when they see Rooker. In their mind they aren't looking at the improved defense they are looking at the opportunity to get two very good bats in the lineup with another good hitter at 1st. Be interesting to watch though. Maybe he'll get lucky and get drafted by the Rockies. I wanna see his bat in Colorado.

If there is one thing I have learned is never give up on this team. What a gem pitched by McQuery and Cole did a great job after a shakey start to the ninth. We are in decent position tomorrow to win the game and take the series. If we do that, we should be in great shape down the stretch. Everyone needs to be a huge Bama fan tomorrow. Hopefully they take one in the doubleheader and we can keep everyone the same after this weekend. Our pitchers today threw strikes and that was the difference in the game. Imagine that. He did about as great a job as he could through those first three innings against Auburn but we pulled the plug on him way too late. We need to be warming up Self in the fourth if needed.
