Plumlee almost got out of that inning with a 4-3 deficit. Just was dumb on one pitch and should have struck out the previous batter. Gordon really shouldn't start anymore unless mid-week. You do realize Mize is hurt? They had to rest him last week and didn't pitch him. They were only going to pitch him if the game was Sunday. He could possibly see bullpen work tonight but that is it.

I guess..I wouldn't bring in Price or Self with us already losing. And McQuary, Barlow and Jolly don't really throw strikes consistanly either, but at least they haven't proven they couldn't today, unlike Barton.

Agreed. Auburn is a feast or famine offensive team. But if you look at their stats they had maybe 2-3 hard hit balls all night and scored most of their runs off of our wildness. 7 walks 5 HPB that lead to 12 of their 17 runs is a tragedy.

Todd is the expert, but a national rank of 26 by Perfect Game usually equates to a 1st round pick in the MLB draft. Only if Holmes is the son of a diehard MSU alumnus and baseball super fan like One of us - he will never be a dog

Could you imagine adding a player like Austin Riley to this team who could have been our starting third baseman and be a shut down pitcher out of the bullpen? This team would be that much better. Instead he takes the $1.5 million to the Braves. I don't really blame them but going to college gets you to the majors quicker and depending on your home situation. You could turn $1.5 million into $6 million easily plus be in position to make the majors that much quicker then just going straight from high school. Also, look at Fenter if he had come here that would have been another quality arm in the bullpen and he was close to coming here. Heck, if Kruger comes back (and they made his number at the last possible second) there's another 10+ HR bat to protect Rooker.
