I'll be honest my family and I walked through the gospel of Mark this week in Jesus' final week of His earthly ministry and man I've had a blast this week in prep for each night. I'll highlight some things I wrote to a group of guys I disciple:

"Jesus approaches a fig tree with green foliage on it, a sign that there should at least be something edible on this tree. The area the tree resided in was "Bethany" and translated it means "the land of dates & figs"....yet there was none. Jesus cursed the tree and it withered from it's very roots. Jesus, the great Fruit Inspector! This story is a prophetic story 2 fold.

1.) Right after the cursing of the tree, He came to see if there were any "fruit" on the "vineyard" His Father had planted. And then addressed the "tenants" of this "vineyard". Because every time The Owner of the vineyard sent a servant to inspect the fruit, they were treated horribly and maimed, beaten, shamed & even killed. But this time, the Owner of this vineyard sent His ONLY BELOVED SON, to come & check. He rode in to inspect this fruit on a colt, which is a sign of peace.

But just like the others (the prophets) the Owner (God, the Father) had sent, He (The Beloved Son & Fruit Inspector) was shamed, mocked, beaten & killed.

There was no fruit, because the tenants (religious leaders of the time) had failed the vines & the Vinedresser/Owner. So they covered their posteriors by shaming & killing the One Who would one day inherit the Vineyard.

2.) The Inheritor WILL come back! But this time not on the back of a symbol of peace but a symbol of war. Not on a colt but a war horse, to claim what is His. There won't be palm branches at His feet but the blood of those who opposed Him.

What will He say when He sees YOU? Think about that for a second, what will Jesus say when He comes to inspect you as a tree? God has given us (like Israel) all that we ever would have needed to produce fruit. We live in one of the most blessed nations in history with wealth, food, water and even laws that protect our freedom to exercise our faith.

He has dug out, planted, put up fences (laws to protect the freedoms we have) and placed towers (churches) in the midst. He has even tenants, not just as pastors but if you and I are married and have kids you too are a tenant of what God, Himself has dug out and leased to you.

And don't get it twisted, if your family is saved YOU DO NOT OWN IT....HE DOES! Are you being a good "tenant"? And how about you, yourself as a "tree"? What will He say when He sees you?

Because the hypocrites He faced in Mark 11-13 did their best to stay in the "middle of the road" and not give truthful answers (Mark 11:27-33). And Jesus didn't even answer their little questions. They feared too much what people thought, how about you?

They didn't even know the Scriptures (Mark 12:18-27) but they had no excuse, they had God's Word and pridefully said they "knew" His Word better than anyone else, yet Jesus said (Mark 12:24) "Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither Scriptures nor the power of God?"

So how about you guys? These tenants had failed and Jesus proclaimed judgement on them like He did that tree, the roots were crumbling and the stones of the temple they held dear were weeping because about 40yrs after Jesus pronounced (Mark 13:1-2) this "root" (the temple) would be no more.

The tenants had played religion and it had cost them. Are you playing religion? What will He say when He sees you?

And another:

Jesus shifted His attention from the fruitless ones to those His greatest fulfillment...His church and those that would be used to lead it. Yet and still the disciples were marveling at a building? When Jesus was trying to teach them it wasn't about the building or all of its trappings, allure or stature. But it was about His church, NOT A BUILDING! And the gates of hell would not prevail over it! It's NOT about a building but about what's inside of YOU! It was then, is now and forever will be the greatest concern!

We are standing at the end of the ages I believe, we are living in a time unprecedented to generations before us. And what are we focused on? A building? It's allure, how more convenient we can make it inside? Rather we must take heed to that which has REAL value! Building one another up, challenging one another, encouraging one another, praying for one another, loving on one another! Jesus the world will know we are His because of our love for one another. It's not about a building, because one day (perhaps sooner than later) the church will need to MOBILIZE! And buildings can't grow feet and walk to witness to people. But you can! Our church buildings can't go to hospitals and pray for those in dire need, but you can!

Whether you are pre, post, ah or pre-wrath...tribulation is one day looming. The abomination of desolation is awaiting to be unveiled in all his evil and sway. Will he claim those whom you were close to? Your sons, daughters, friends, family, coworkers? If you are believe in pre-tribulation will you be watching those whom you didn't witness to be taken by the evil of the anti-Christ because you were too concerned with a building?

Oh, Lord God forgive us! We have been SO WRONG! We didn't heed our Master's warnings. We worked too hard keeping the stones of our temples upright when rather our focus should have been on seeing the harvest as Jesus did! Never Lord has the field been so white & ready for the labor we were supposed to be focused on! Master, give us a burning desire to be fire brand snatchers today, let us make haste in gathering souls around the feet of your magnificent Cross! I beg & plead with You Lord, let us be even like men like D.L Moody who couldn't even sleep at night because he hadn't witnessed to someone yet. May Your Breath that's within us, Your Holy Spirit burn to send us on our way to share the Gospel of our Lord, Christ and Him crucified until we draw our last breath. Amen!

And then Friday:

How did you sleep brothers? Did you sleep well? Did you know last night over 2000 yrs ago was the darkest and most evil night in the history of mankind? The night when man decided to kill his Creator! When the most contrived and greatest farce in all of judiciary courts happened in the veil of night & evil. It was a night unlike any other before it, supernatural forces were at work, when demons & the enemy worked it's hardest on human beings to defame God's creation. My soul is heavy this morning, may we never forget the most evil night in the history of this world as followers of our bruised & pierced Master. But Sunday is just around the corner.

Today let us reflect when the sun is at it's highest today, noon. Let us look up and remember at that time the sun on THAT DAY, was not seen. A supernatural pitch blackness surrounded Him while He hung on that Roman execution rack....for you and for me!

As Dave Ramsey always says:
There's only one way to peace, and that's to walk daily with the prince of peace, Christ Jesus.

I know there are those on this forum that are not believers, or don't follow the Christian faith, and that is okay. I cannot apologize or make concessions for what I believe in. It feels more and more like we are approaching "end times". The world around us is volatile. I will most likely never be in a position to be persecuted, but I will never deny my Lord and savior, even in the face of grave danger and certain Earthly death. He is risen! Thanks be to God!
