explain two things to me real quick... first, what is the 'germans' reference? and second, how did the number '17' become shorthand for the 'F' word?

i want to be cool too and be in the inner circle.

It originated on the other MSU board. Rule 17 was no bad language so people started just putting 17 in the place of a certain word. The Germans thing is in relation to the Animal House speech.

Both are holdovers from Sixpack. "Germans" is reference to info that has already been post, and is an homage to the "Germans bombed Pearl Harbor" speach by Bluto in Animal House.

17 for "f" - Rule #17 on Sixpack was "no use of the f word", subbing "17" for "f" became a standard.

Pre - Madonna, is that like before WW2? It would tie into the Germans thing nicely.

We offered Bo a scholar, he turned us down but never turned down a chance to be a 17ing smartass asshole. Don't care for the guy. Chad is a head case and a dork but I don't dislike the guy or take glee in his misfortune. When he was on he was a baller.

Pretty clever. Thanks for the info, fellas. Germans = wrong and 17 = phuck. Got it.

Yeah, that would be clever except that "Germans" should mean 'wrong', if based on Animal House, not 'already posted'. Never made sense to me. Now... using 17in' "17" for 17!! That's awesome!!

I seen it dawg

I always thought "Germans" was a reference to the line in "Smokey and the Bandit" where Buford T. Justice is told something isn't germane to the situation to which he replies: "The GD Germans ain't got nuttin to do with it!"

Like this reply.

I always knew what it meant but in the movie he wasn't giving old news. He was getting the history wrong. So to me that saying "sorry if it is German" crap was crap.

Shouldn't the prolonged exposure to Mia Khalifa videos actually improve the strength of his wrist?

He probably went all Wes Johnson. Too much too fast blew out some tendons and ligaments.
