Shit, they got Sirmon, what the hell else do they want.

Wish there was some way we could make Petrino look bad by not allowing this. Not sure exactly how.

The hilarious thing about this one is that he originally followed Grantham to Louisville...without restriction.

So Louisville was glad to take him simply because Grantham was hired, but now doesn't want to let him follow Grantham to somewhere else.

I get why coaches do this, but this one is kind of funny.

We've got to get Louisville on the schedule. We seem to building hate between the 2 schools without even playing

I'd guess they want to punish us for sticking them with Sirmon. I certainly would if I were them.

Schools should not be allowed to block transfers for graduates. Seems like an easy rule change for the NCAA. Also, Petrino is a piece of shit.

Let me ask because I honestly don't know. Is it an NCAA rule you can't go to a school your former head coach says is off limits or just a condition of being releasd from your NOI? What would be funny as hell is if he wanted to come here and we get some school to agree to sign him for like a day and then grant him an unconditional release. I assume he could sit out a year and then go anywhere he wanted but I know he is looking to play immediately.

This is not a LOI situation, he's not a signee. He is just a transfer.

And there would be 0 incentive for another school to get involved in this, especially since some conferences (like the SEC) bar you from getting grad transfers if you have a certain amount that transfer in and don't graduate from grad school.

Making it public plus the history of being allowed to transfer with Grantham to Louisville in the first place makes a compelling argument. The key is keeping enough pressure up to make them change their mind.

Hope it works out for him. I agree transfer rules shouldn't apply to grad transfers. They've paid their dues and fulfilled their commitment by that point.

Hypothetically, yes I would still feel the same way. They aren't property of the University. As I stated, once the commitment has been fufilled then they should be free to do as they wish without restrictions.

I'm not an expert on the details, this is simply my thought process. If they are rewarded with a "free" education, then once the education piece is fulfilled then so is their obligation to play for the school.
