The show is an interesting premise with the aliens just coming in and taking over the world. It is actually what Stephen Hawking says may very well happen if we made contact with alien life. We would be the native americans to the more advanced colonizing europeans.

I've watched a few episodes. Not bad but I jumped in late so I'm a little lost on the foundation and origins of how things got started. Any info on that would be appreciated.

It is still kind of a mystery. Aliens showed up one day and took out most of the leaders on the planet. Then the huge walls were dropped cutting off people from other parts of the country. They still haven't actually shown the aliens and people are working in a factory on the moon doing something. That is where they have been sending people. You could always read episode synopsis on Wikipedia.

So we have humans living comfortable with police all around and outside the walls are people living in tough conditions. Just trying to figure all that out.

So we have humans living comfortable with police all around and outside the walls are people living in tough conditions. Just trying to figure all that out.

The walls formed "blocks" and any open space between blocks are uninhabited. The oldest son found a drainage tunnel out and was able to bring some supplies back because it is just vacant now. The blocks are run like their own countries. Will goes to a different block because his youngest son was separated from them and it is pretty chaotic. The military police style of government isn't in that block. There is some kind of worldwide leadership counsel that is in contact with the aliens who coordinate the governing of the blocks. They showed people working in the "factory" early and I don't know what they were doing but it was on the moon. They threaten getting sent to the factory like it is a death camp. It has been pretty good and I think it is worth watching. You might want to binge season 1. It is like the French Resistance in World War 2 if instead of Germans it was alien invaders.

Next season will see the start of full-scale rebellion. Minus the lizard reptile look, it may turn into this generation's version of V.
