I'm sure it'll be Jake, but I think we should really consider billingsley and move Jake to tuesday. JB had some success vs om last year in pearl. Anything official yet or thoughts?

Rather not start Jake, I wish we would use him like Pete Young, bring him in late when you need some heat.

I actually love jake starting on Sundays. He's the emotional leader that sets the tone on rubber games. All we ever need is 2 innings from him to set the tone, then everyone else chip in. Winning game 3s keeps you alive

Sounds good, but here's the actual results vs sec hitters...

2.14 whip

It's not working. It is a small sample though, so hopefully if we stick with him, it gets better

But then again if you use him in the 8th & 9th inning it doesn't matter.

Unless it's a tight game and goes extras. Then we lose his bat or run out of guys off the bench to hit for pitchers.

If he can't shut them down then we shouldn't be pitching him at all. I don't know who we would go to, but Jakes batting is way more valuable than his pitching ability.

Which is why you start him so he can DH. It's really simple.
