I don't really see it as "inflating" Pollo at all. He was a mediocre pitcher for the most part. Its just that our options for starting pitchers beyond Pilk are that bad right now. It's not a stretch at all to say that one of the worst guys on our 2013 staff (which was probably the best top to bottom in school history) would be one of the best guys on this staff other than Pilk. That's what losing 9 or so pitchers to injury and getting booted does to a team.

This dude has prepared freshmen and JUCO transfers into a unit that can hold-it-together in the SEC. Basically, our pitching staff is composed by guys we normally red-shirt and/or ease into D1 baseball for about a year...yet...here we are, a competitive club WITH ROOM for improvement.

There are many that made knee jerk reactions with this team instead of just sitting back and letting things play out. The talent is there and has always been there, even with the pitching injuries. This staff has recruited at a high level the past two years, and it is only a matter of time before these young guys put it together.

There will still be ups and downs this year, but this team never was as bad as many wanted to believe just a week ago.

Agreed. Poole, Blaylock, McNamee (sorry if I misspell it) all have talent and are gonna get there. Im disappointed in Bragg though he needs to figure it out soon.
