If you read the article (clearly you didn't) you would realize that it was nothing "we" did.

and a rebuttal, from Dan Wetzel.

MSU should be okay. Bray, Couch and Fluker all took Money, our guys just took 2 airline tickets.

Couch should be ineligible soon...

Some "good" news is that this is retroactive to the Redmond stuff so would it fall under repeat offender technically?

Did UGA get probation for AJ Green getting $4,000 in impermissible benefits?

ckDOG

1) Who the hell turns over that kind of info?

2) Maybe this is the excuse Keenum needs to fire Bracky? "Bracky, you should have educated these kids more on not taking benefits from agents."

3) Thank the Lord Bama is involved and our players are light on the benefits.

4) Where the hell are the articles about OM and their issues I'm assured are inevitable by those "in the know"....

Political Hack
09-11-2013, 04:44 PM
OM is dealing with their own crap right now...

However, I'm not sure anyone "in the know" knew about this. I had heard Cox's suspension a few years ago was because of "NFL agent related issues," but that was well before this.

Saltydog

if the school did anything or not? The players have to be responsible for compliance as well........

2. See #1

If you read the article (clearly you didn't) you would realize that it was nothing "we" did.

If you had seen the BS went through with Bracky and Redmond ( clearly you didn't) you would realize that "we" need to be concerned.

The article is on the front page of Yahoo. Its sure as heck aint good.

This is a whole bunch of nothing. Even if they proved this and got someone to admit it, all they could do is vacate some past wins. Oh bummer.

I'll be honest. I really don't give a rats ass anymore. Seems like we always make the headlines when there is shit going on all over college sports. I'm tired of reading about it.

At least it is after any Egg Bowl wins. Those douchebags in Oxford count 2 wins from the 70's that they lost on the field.

CJDAWG85

Not a damn thing will come out of this... You know they won't do anything to Bama, they won't do anything to OKST, and they won't do anything to OM... They did nothing to Auburn... They did nothing to A&M... Why does anyone even write about shit like this anymore??? This OKST nonsense is irrelevant now... Just like this article... None of the schools in this article knew this was going on and all the players have to do is not talk... Just some BS writers and some bottom feeder agents trying to get famous...

FlabLoser
09-11-2013, 05:27 PM
Two guys no longer playing took a job related trip. Seniors and co-op students do that every year.

There is no evidence they were paid. No evidence they signed with an agent.

Nothing to see here.

Furthermore, this stuff happened BEFORE we began our wrist slap probation. There is no trouble here for MSU.

Breaking news: Ole Miss has a 21st century compliance department.

More breaking news: Just because Mississippi State is too inept to keep their dirty laundry out of the press, doesn't mean Ole Miss is too. Remember this FOIA requests they refused to meet?

LeakyD

With all the crazy media trying to break a story, you'd think there would be a sprint to be the first to expose the Rebs, but most just jumped on the bandwagon.

Political Hack

ESPN can't after they just threw them the biggest signing day party in the history of recruiting and followed it with them kicking the opening night of the season off on ESPN.

Local/Regional reporters tried... got stonewalled.

Also, nobody's talking except for the people who talked to the NCAA, including at least one guy who's sported the red and blue.

There is only 1 school in Mississippi currently being investigated by the NCAA

I'm really glad Alabama is implicated too. Slive won't let them punish Bama, and even the NCAA wouldn't punish us and not them over the same incident.

I'm not so sure they wouldn't. They can always say that Fluker didn't know he was in the wrong and let them slide. The NCAA hates us so I don't think they would completely lump us in with Bama and no wrong doings.

I'm getting sick to my stomach just thinking about how ole miss gets away with every damn thing. I can't even talk about it or write about it without flipping the hell out. I feel like media and ole miss are personally out to get me. My hate for ole miss is stronger than my love for state and I want them to burn. Oh and I will never ever get over Scam newton. Deep deep down I know 100% they are so damn dirty and it's like a recurring nightmare, nothing ever changes.

Cox is a complete non-story. His college career was over when he took the flight in question.

Bump is a non-story too. Minor stuff. Secondary at worst. Less than that considering he is no longer a student. We might get one less recruiting visit after this.

TD Club of New York, or something like that I think.

Ithink they vote on whether to revoke the Heisman after NCAA infractions are handed down.

Did any of the listed players sign with the agent the provided the benefits? If not, could this be a sign of blackmail?

Good news, everyone. One of the co-writers said that the NCAA is not allowed to use any evidence that they turned up in their investigation and that they would have to go find it themselves. This might be our ticket out of this mess.

Do they writers write a story and in essence extort the universities to not turn over evidence now?

It could, but the NCAA could start an investigation, the schools deny all involvement, the former SA's refuse to talk to the NCAA, then everything is just gone like a cloud of smoke. I am thinking uber-optimistically right now. Please excuse me. I'm kind of an optimist in the morning.

Ref is correct...all that stuff written ab OSU, which I'm sure is being taken seriously by the university, cannot be used in any way as evidence against them. In addition, several of the players mentioned have already been interviewed by ncaa officails and said the writer took what they said way out of context and was in no way factual of what actually took place.

As bad as all of that sounds, I gaurantee you the penalties (if any) are minor in nature.

And Bracky can self-impose penalties on us, while Bama and UT do nothing...

This will happen...

I have to think that we are going to let Bama lead with this and follow their lead...

Anything we accept that they don't WILL get Bracky fired -- and puts Keenum's head on the chopping block. Our booster and trustee structure is not stupid -- and they are just as sick of watching us play by different rules from everyone else as the rest of us...

I stick to my statement that nothing comes of this... Even Bracky isn't incompetent enough to serve us up on a silver platter in a situation where we're tied to a football program that is probably more powerful than the NCAA itself...
