Without Calhoun and Jenkins- our OL cant even contend with Simmons, Sweat, etc. Had to play alot of back-ups for the offense to move the ball

Defense absolutely dominated

Usually I would be scared that the O was no good but this year that is good to hear. The defense ought to be dominating with a depleted OL and young receivers. Hopefully those units will get healthy (OL) and develop over the summer (WRs). It means that we actually have a legit DC and our talent is actually showing on D. If the D is stout next year we could surprise.

More details please.

Any decent defense always wins scrimmages, starters or not. They're ahead at this point and it requires less chemistry than offense. You look for individual battle winners during the scrimmages. Whose making a play when they get a chance.

"Chemistry" In thought they played together this past season, maybe at different positions.

Played lots of snaps for 3rd string guys .
Defense is very aggressive
McClaurin played very well
Donate Jones played well
Lee has a few good runs
Donald Gray, Mitchell, Jesse Jackson all didn't practice so lots reps for other WR. Gray isn't hurt just no need to be out there .
KT very mature for a kid that still should be in high school
Lots of energy on defense . Coaching staff there is easily best we have had
As usuall defense is ahead of offense since O is limited with the QB's

I"d say he is in the Pepper's type mold. Long and athletic

If that is the case then him and Simmons are going to wreck shit this fall.

If Montez Sweat can play like a young Julius Peppers our defense is gonna be nasty. We havent had a real pass rusher since Preston Smith

Anyone remember Ed Smith at DE? He was a beast, especially for his size. Hail State!

I do and you're right, Ed Smith was a beast. I believe he wore #2 if my mind is not failing me.

And you Sir, are correct, Ed did wear #2. Thru thick and thin MSU has given all Dawgs, even we older ones many great memories and many more to come. Hail State!
