Yep... right now it's State - 17, LSU - 13 and refs - 4.

I just posted on the hoop thread. These guys now have almost a year under their belt and this game has been air-ball city from three several times, turnover after turnover, and 17 pts in the first 11 minutes against a bad LSU team. Another slow start. These guys look the same almost every game. Herrod really has a tough time catching the ball also. Missed two attempted dunks followed by a strip point blank. Same ole , same ole.

AIR BALLS AND POOR PASSES FOR TURNOVERS. YAY!

I'm afraid they will just be a year older next year, not a year better. I cannot figure out the identity of this team, except every player thinks he can shoot 3'S. Hope I am proven wrong!

Thank goodness for Carter and Q! What's the record for air-ball three's in an SEC game? ****

Sometimes it's hard to get used to a domed environment. In these early games especially, you will see a lot of air balls. Heck, even LSU had a few. It wouldn't surprise me to see a few in the Auburn Missouri game.

Quick question. Did that team in 2005-2006 improve that had Gordon on it? It finished .500 that year and most likely we will too. That team is IMO a very good comparison to this team with as much youth both teams had on them.

Yeah, he is going to be really good. If he can get some weight on him, he could be an NBA draft prospect in a couple of years.

I'd love to see Stapleton rein in some of his wildness. I think he can be a really good player for us next year. The guy gives great effort. Being 100% healthy will obviously help him.

They should have beaten Georgia as well. Georgia beat LSU on a buzzer 3 by JJ Frazier.

Rough Start, but played with energy. Carter and X get better every game. Ready and Herard had their regular 3-4 turnovers. Datcher had a good game. Peters and Q looked good. We really were close to winning 18-20 games. Let's beat Bama, due theory.

Actually the next two games are against teams we were close against and had late leads on. If we stay hot like this and avoid fouling, we have a punchers chance against both Alabama and South Carolina.

No way the refs were SEC affiliated tonight. Thy let both teams play. If we had gotten these refs 50% of our games we would have a winning SEC record. If we'd gotten them every game we are probably top 3 seed. The stripes tonight let our players play wide open and their athleticism showed. Oh well, we can beat Bama if we play 80% of tonight's game.

Tournaments are much different then regular seasons for refs for some reason. For instance, that was Joe Lindsey's group who officiated our game. His crew were the idiots that did our Auburn game at Auburn and was the crew that got that student kicked out of the Tennessee game.

Ready had 1 TO.

But Herard dropped two of his passes out of bounds. One was a bounce pass at His ankles.

Sure that's what you meant.. and if you did name me me a starting point and big man they don't average combined 3 or 4 TO a game.

You don't like IJ I'm sure your not alone in that boat.
IJ to 3/4 of state fans is the bizzaro Reid Humphires. No matter how bad a weekend Hump had 1-10 with 8 punch outs and one bomb it's all good.
IJ goes for 6 points 5dimes couple of boards and 2 turnovers and dude shouldn't even be playing Rec ball...

how about how times he got abused on defense? Why do you think Howland took Him out yesterday because his man was scoring at will. 5'10" can't guard 6'4". I will be glad when He is gone. Yep, He is a SR. and he is better under Ben than before but His minuses are bigger than His pluses IMHO. At crunch time He really scares Me--why do you think we have folded at the end of some games? IJ tries to do too much. he is an excellent free throw shooter. They had him down for one turnover but what about driving into lane and getting stuffed? he does it often Sorry I'm not a IJ fan, but I'm glad when He does something good. But if IJ is your PG you will never be a winner.

I was actually a Reid Fan.

I've thought the same, glad you brought that up. I do think we have more talent right now on the roster than that one did, and we have more talent on the way than that one did as well.

I like this team better too. Mostly because the guys we have now pass the ball, which Jamont was not real big on doing.

Again show me a stat where the PG and C on a team average less that 3 TO a game combined.
You made a stupid post , I called you out on it and you deflected..
I never said IJ was a top tier PG , but everyone saw how we played without him the lineup.

And on the defensive side of the ball , those that understand basketball know IJ wasn't and isn't the worse defender that gets minutes. And he isn't even close to being. . if you don't believe that, go ask someone who does. You will get the same answer...

And LSU guards average Blakney 17 Sampson 11 Mayes 8
Blakney had 11 Sampson 6 Mayes 13 ..

Yeah A terrible defensive effort for IJ...
