Why did Cannizaro not get the Tulane job(his alma mater)?

He has been touted the hottest name in assistants.

Did Tulane just like the Vandy guy better?

Did he not want it?

Was he waiting on something better?

Was the Stricklin/Cohen/Cannizaro move in the works in July?

Something else?

I think they were afraid of losing him to LSU when Manieri stepped down. Their last coach that they had was only there for one year before Texas hired him away and I think they wanted someone that they knew would be there long term. Despite tonight I think he is a better coach than Jewett who Tulane hired. You have to remember Cannizaro has just as much of a connection to LSU as he does to Tulane.
