Think 3-2. Averaged less than 2 runs per game. It's embarrassing

I don't get it. Are we trying to bring the small ball game to soft ball? There's a few I'd like to discuss this with over a bottle of Dona Sol, or two.

Man it's just odd. We just literally cannot hit.

I know zero about MSU softball or any softball for that matter.....this comes from a softball specific supporter/donor.

Baring an absolute total collapse she'll get another year based on signing class alone. (Number 4)

Ranking University Points # of players Top 200 Player Rankings
1 UCLA 996 6 #'s: 1, 7, 19, 26, 31, 126
2 Auburn 912 7 #'s: 5, 24, 32, 66, 83, 131, 154
3 Florida 849 6 #'s: 10, 13, 22, 64, 78, 170
4 Mississippi State 803 6 #'s: 4, 33, 34, 60, 129, 143
5 Alabama 783 5 #'s: 15, 27, 39, 56, 85
6 Arizona 781 6 #'s: 44, 48, 53, 77, 79, 124
7 Texas 722 5 #'s: 20, 25, 36, 65, 137
8 Oregon 711 4 #'s: 12, 18, 23, 40
9 Missouri 704 7 #'s: 11, 38, 45, 98, 148, 178, 185
10 Michigan 672 4 #'s: 6, 8, 57, 61

Apparently the subsequent classes are lining up similarly.

The administration believes she should be given the chance to recruit to the new stadium.

I think small ball is the best way to go in softball. Slap hitting and all. Especially when we don't attract the heavy hitters that Florida, Texas, Arizona, and UCLA do.

Name the teams that have won the WCWS doing that......Softball is about pitching, defense, and smashing the ball. Our current talent level is horrible. That's it. You won't win games in the SEC playing small ball. Especially when you don't have the speed to do it.

Guess I'm not emotionally invested enough in MSU women's sports nor am I knowledgeable enough about what's going on to know when a head coach should be in danger of being shown the door but hate to hear that Vann's team has slipped as it has. Sounded like when she first came on board that we thought she was a top notch hire. Hopefully she gets things turned around. SEC women's softball is every bit the grind that SEC men's baseball is if not worse.

Small ball is good for getting a lead runner on base or advancing a runner to 2B. After that it's useless, especially for us because it is apparent we can't hit. Had this problem lest year. We stranded a lot of ladies on the bases. No timely hits almost EVER. We play good defense but the better teams eventually find the hits. We have some SEC calibre players and pitchers but do not yet have SEC calibre hitters....

True, we're only one weekend in. I'm trying to stay positive, but last year's team rolled over the early nonconf schedule. If we are already losing, methinks we may have a long season ahead.
