All of MS and almost all of AL under a slight risk for severe weather today. Storms are expected to peak in coverage and intensity late morning to early afternoon in east MS and west AL. While anywhere could see a tornado, best chances at this time appear to be southeast MS into southwest AL. Another main concern will be the threat of large hail. Quarter to golfball could be common with isolated instances of larger not out of the question.

Latest SPC models show an enhanced risk for SE Miss. Lots of discrete cells popping this morning.

I'll try to keep up with y'all, but I'm already responsible for two states worth of coverage. :P Only one of those I get paid to do.

Weather Channel just showed a picture of the tornado in/near New Orleans. Huge funnel, and probably lots of damage.

Looks like some bad stuff headed towards the coast. That produced a tornado in New Orleans?

Yes the northshore and Nola has been in the cross hairs the past hour or so with tornadoes on the ground. We have been hunkered down awhile and may get another one in the next 30 minutes or so. The coast counties are getting it now.

Looks like the bulk of the severe weather should stay close to the coast the rest of the day. There are a few storms starting to develop between Jackson and Winona that will have to be watched. The one near Jackson is severe warned. After these push through things should start to calm down for much of MS. Only exception might be right along the coast.

Yeah in Gulfport and it's just raining but I'm watching that storm coming at us on the radar. It doesn't look good.

Storm off shore south of Bay St. Louis does not look good at all. It has a definite hook on reflectivity. Velocity is not overly impressive right now but that can change. This is a storm that needs to be watched.

Yes they are all around from Baton Rouge through Nola. Already had two shelter in places in the refinery today and just sent out another wind warning. Got hairy earlier and reports of golf ball sized hail at airport in Kenner. At least one confirmed tornado in New Orleans east and a few around the Donaldsonville area.
