How much revenue do the rebbears stand to lose from having no football team for a year (or two)?

Lose money? I think you mean save money. No football for two years would save the Network millions of dollars.

The Death Penalty has been a part of their plan all along. 2 years of Death Penalty = 2 years of not paying players, recruits and the families of players/recruits = 2 years of Network savings. Then when they come off the death penalty with heavy pockets, they will hire Jon Gruden, buy/sign 100 5-stars and win 5 national championships all in one year. The Death Penalty is a good thing, duhhh.

They've been busted in for multiple football classes from 2013-2017, busted for women's basketball, and busted for track. Violations span two football staffs. Multiple coaches are implicated in the NOA, including the head coach. There are 8 level 1 violations in the first NOA, which is allegedly about half of what the NCAA has. Even with all of that, I did not think the death penalty was really possible.

However, then getting caught in the 2017 class with their hand in the cookie jar again is proof that they will not stop under any circumstances. Without the death penalty, they will continue. The NCAA recognizes that. And because of that, I do think it is now possible.

Zero percent chance they get the death penalty.

Sorry, I just remembered that everything you say doesn't come true so keep saying they won't get the DP.

You don't know that.

It takes at least 10 minutes to read the abridged version of their crimes and misdemeanors. I'm sure the NCAA's copy reads like a Tolstoy novel.

Compile that with what they're still doing in '17...I'm not sure the NCAA has a matrix to can judge Mississippi's lawlessness.

I think this DOES rise to SMU's crimes and surpasses it in a few respects. If the NCAA has even a hope of containing the wild-eyed cheating that "everybody does" OM is gonna have to pay dearly.

The only way they get the Death Penalty is if they were caught doing something after the probation for women's basketball and track were handed down. If the rumors are true the could be in a heap of trouble.

How can they get the DP when it is only given out if you are repeat offender after sanctions are handed down. There sanctions haven't been announced.

Need to verify but the athletic department was placed on probation in early November 2016 for WBB and men's track. This may open the door for the DP to be on the table, especially since the duration of this cheating has gone on since the early part of the decade.

I think the DP is a possibility but only if om keeps up this sabre rattling about legal action. The NCAA won't take that shit lightly.

I think one of the reasons they separated the sanctions and moved forward with sanctions on WBB and track is to give them the DP after this next round of violations comes out. Just a hunch.

Thats what I was thinking also, and now that they may have been caught again in late November (after the WBB and men's track sanctions) in this current recruiting cycle, we can only hope.

Back to the OP:

Quit a lot if the next time they find themselves fighting for a division championship it is against their real rival....Southern Mississippi
