I mention Thursday just because the NWS did, but to be honest, I am not overly impressed with the set up. Heavy rain - yes. Severe weather - not so much.

However, Saturday is looking to have some real potential. Here is what the NWS said in their latest forecast discussion:

Along with strong deep layer shear, there is little doubt that the environment will be supportive of significant severe weather. But due to the very fast upper level flow and how surface features will respond, there is a lot of uncertainty regarding lift and specific areas of deep convection, especially with the tendency for coastal convection in this sort of pattern with big height falls well to our south.

As you can see, there is still some uncertainty, but this is looking like more a of a spring system than a late winter system and certainly needs to be watched. As of right now, strength and exact location are still up in the air. Yesterday, the SPC had the threat Saturday further south and east slightly. This morning, they had back up further west and north to cover more of MS.

Lovin' you weather guys. Much better forecast here on ED than on local news. I used to hunt with an old weatherman with the NWS in
Jackson, Gabe Jefferies. If he wasn't in the woods, then you didn't need to be either.

So you're saying I need to be chasing split tail instead of whitetail this weekend.
